  1. A friend of mine sent me this link today: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/news/Features/2013/Jul13/07-17Lego.aspx
  2. Sam, Merry (though it's used more as a feminine name), Rosie and names like that seem acceptable.
  3. Publicity and maketing sometimes can become brain washing to the children. Here is legal and near Christmas is absolute madness. Probably 6 out of 10 commercials are aimed for children and many become obcessed about those toys. Prices go up and parents usually don't know how to educate their children in responsible shopping and advertising filtering (when they are not too young to understand). Also, deceptive advertising is too common and children often become easy targets.
  4. Pinhal Novo, Portugal
  5. I love the movies too. I am to re-watch them with my girlfriend for a while now. Well, if we can't have real ones, there is always Lego xD Last movie I saw was Everything is Illuminated with Elijah Wood. Great movie!
  6. I was reading and old article about Gerry Burrows's Garrison of Moriah and amongst the comments there was someone reffering how he left his Dark Ages and joined a community online. I considered the idea and looked for a Lego Forum on Google dedicated to adults.
  7. Thank you, Captain!
  8. I have the 6090 castle, which was my favourite set as a kid, alongside 6195 Aquanauts Base. I also have the 6097: They are all in boxes, awaiting for me to move out. I don't know if I still have the instructions booklets, but I can always build something new from them. There as many I wish I could buy more recent, but the ones that hurt most are the modern Castle and Kigdom themes. I also been recently attracted to the City theme, wich I didn't care much as a child. It's not only because of the game, but I find the new models, specially the vehicles to be really cool designed.
  9. Hey everyone. I'm 23, Software Engineering finalist and I'm sad to tell I still live in my Dark Ages. Always been a Lego fan. As a kid, most of my toys were made of Lego. I've been introduced to the Lego world by my father who was as a fan as I am. At the age of 10, this world was deprived of me by the same person. Although he loved Lego, he as always been a man to defend appearances and believed that continuing to build Lego at that age would not be good for me. So, for many years, the only Lego contact I had was what digital media had to offer, but I always had the repressed desire to build and create. I believe it was the same desire that lead me to software.| Anyways, I recently have been much more in contact with Lego, as I discovered my girlfriend had the same repressed desire. She didn't have the same luck as me as a child, and did not have many Legos, but that didn't stopped her from liking it. So, we've been to Fan Events together, we often window shop Lego stores and Google for cool constructions people around the world make. Although we are at a point in our life where we're gaining our own independence, it's not an inexpensive hobby, so aside a couple of small sets we bought, we still cannot have it as a hobby, unfortunately. Nevertheless, I though I'd enjoy to be a little more in touch with a community with the same interest. I don't have much to offer right now, aside talking about nostalgia and games, but I'd still like to get on the boat if I can.
