Thanks. I got exactly the kimono girl and thought it would be useful. lol But find it a bit too cute as Mistress Ching. Maybe fit with another torso and dress, any idea? Besides this two minifigs how many other white face head did Lego make? I have got this minifig as SaoFeng, thought it would be a perfect fit without any mod. lol

Any ideas of the 9 pirate lords MOC? We get Jack and Barbossa already from LEGO sets, and half Elizabeth (different torso) Others have appeared in the LEGO game. Any idea of how to source the parts, or suggestions of similar parts? Cheers.

As title, what is the last locked character (the bottom right of the list) in the LEGO POTC PC game? And how to get it? I have already 100% fisnished the game, with all minibottle, all 85 gold bricks, etc. But I still have not idea how to get that character. Thanks.

May I know do we all get 2 dresses from the 10210 as the picture below? Or it is only available to early sets as Lego made a mistake? Sadly, I got my 10210 recently and it only comes with 1 dress. (Only the correct colour one)

"What would you do? What would any of you be willing to do? Would you brave the weird and haunted shores at world's end to fetch back witty Jack?" "Witty Jack is closer than you think." Enjoy

Cleaning and straightening out your sails
Lord Augusta replied to Medievalego's topic in LEGO Pirates
I found that all lego cloth will become softer after let them wet, and never recover again. It is much obvious in sail. It cannot be as stiff as before, the sail just lay a bit down looks like the ship in a no wind condition. I have read someone said that when we wash lego's cloth, it wash away some kind of water soluble gel that lego spray on the cloth to make them stiff. And he suggested that we can re apply some transparent acrylic paint on the back to make it stiff again. Does anyone have comment on this? -
I hv the same baseplate as yours, bonarparte

The battery in the "light brick" is able to be replace, isnt it?

sad, sad to hear about the new lego having more and more problems. first is the design, being more childish and offering less brick. the only improvement is the minifigs printing beautiful than the old pirates, however the quality.........first is report on using cheapo plastic in TTT and the chess set, which disappoint me and give up buying the chess set..... and now even the gold print will fade... will there be anymore up coming complaint? really wish LEGO control their quality carefully. Nevertheless, I believe it only happen in some minifigs ( maybe made in different country). I also has that blue coat pirate minifigs, I hv MOC its colour before, paint the blue to black, and I hv been wash off the paint again by alcohol several times, the gold paint didnt fade even in alcohol.

6270 Forbidden Island baseplate differences?
Lord Augusta replied to Lord Augusta's topic in LEGO Pirates
Hi Rick, Mine is the early version, that has a gray back. But it is already different to that from the official pictures. So I think it is not likely to have difference because it is a later version than that in the offcial pictures. Does anyone here have a later version that only the island is printed on a blue baseplate? Did LEGO correct the flaw and offer you a larger island? -
Do all of you owing this Tic Tac Toe, or the Pirate Chess Set, all having this problem? Or some sets dont? I am considering to buy the Chess Set for collection, as I already have many nice old pirate sets and the new 2009 sets do not attract me much. Buildings go too simple, but just the minifigs have improved. If all of the Chess set or TTT sets minifigs are at that quality, I may not want to buy it.

6270 Forbidden Island baseplate differences?
Lord Augusta replied to Lord Augusta's topic in LEGO Pirates
Sorry for my title, it's too long that cannot be shown, should be "official pics" General Armendar, mine do have one side likes yours. The four sides of the island look identical, but they do have a bit difference on the shore line position. There are some white marks on the island that tell you where to start building at the beginning, so you can tell which is front, back, left and right. ( if you follow those marks) I have 3 third row studs on the front side, that have half yellow ending on them. -
I just got this set from ebay recently, nice and include its original instruction in as new condition. I think everyone own this set do know about its little flaw, that the stair is leading to water. The yellow colour on the baseplate ends on the forth stud from the edge, and the stair is built on the third stud, so it's leading to water. a picture from Manta: However, the island in the official photo is larger. You can see from the box art, or the instruction, that the yellow area extent to the third stud ( the third stud is still yellow ). And it makes the stair leading to a bit land. Why would this happen? Did Lego make a mistake on printing the size of the island? If so, than what is the baseplate that they used for taking official photo?

excuse me, may I know is there any instruction for building the "alternate model" on the back of the lego box? If no, what's the point of LEGO offering extra brick to build those alternate model in early year? We never know exactly which brick is put on where. ps: I always wish lego give us the instruction for those alternate model, include in each set.

ha, in that non-realistic movie, who knows? Maybe Beckett come back as a cursed soul or another witch brings him back again if the director wants to. Many Characters in that movies seem to be non-dead. The crew of the Black Pearl while they were cursed. Jack when he stole a cursed coin. Babossa, the witch brough him back. Davy Jones, and his "fish men". Jack again, being saved at the world end. Even Will Turner, being the captain of the Flying Dutchman and re live again. PS: I love Beckett.

x2 - save the SES first and sell it and then buy a BSB As I like BSB much The price of them are very close, but if I do not remember it wrong the SES usually a bit more expenisive. BSB has been re release as legend but SES did not, much rare. Well, if the BSB is a original 1989 6285 MIS setz, i may save it first.

Thanks for correcting, sorry my mistake. I just mean someone likes CC more just because it has more soilder ( ignore that "pirate" minifig on the Flagship)
-
Hi Joey, I think that isnt that stupid. For the craziest part I would say the release of the "Colipso". Lord Beckett leads the soldiers and the fleets to fight, so if Beckett is dead what's the point for the soilders still need to fight? To revenge? For their master? Not only Beckett is gone, also their two flagship (Endeavour and the flying dutchman), also their powerful "weapon" Davy Jones and his undead sailor, Mercer, and also other high rank commander on the Endeavor. The soldier must be frightened, even they have more men but who knows what "special weapon" the pirates have to defeat their leaders and the flagships. Not worth to take the risk, better to retreat and save own life. Not only in movie, it's real, in history, even in games. In Total war you will find the enemies retreat easier if you kill the general.

YES, what you say just exactly like Harry potter!!!! Add new story line and character in every movies, similarities repeated again and again, dull and never want to end. I dont even remember what I see / what the movies tell after watching the order of pheonix and the new half blood prince. Still has 2 movies to go to the big ending (total 8, even longer that Starwars). sigh, and I probably wont go to see. btw, I do love Pirates of the caribbean, and also Starwars. I love the episode 4,5,6, as well as the 1, 2,3. Athought some people says 2- the atttack of the clones is boring too. Lets wish the PoTC 4 be a good movie and everyone will happy, but still have 2 years to wait for.

MAJOR reasons why Pirates WILL return in 2010!
Lord Augusta replied to Imperial Governer's topic in LEGO Pirates
If seeing the pass and comparing the sets, there is one set missing in the 2009 theme, and probably release in 2010 -- an imperial ship! However, other than that, seems no other left and can be released. The 2009 theme already has a biggest pirate ship, a soldier fort, a pirate land base, plus some smaller sets just like what they designed every generation before.....unless, they start a sub theme just like "islanders". Or, unfortunately, if they dont release pirate anymore. It's also usual, just like how their designs quality drop in recent year. Be honest, I havent bought or had interest in LEGO's sets for many years, neither castle theme which I also liked before, nor the other new release theme. I havent bought any 2009 pirate sets too, but I have just bought some minifigs. Really, the only things that 2009 LEGO pirates better than before and worth to buy, is the printed torso and heads. Ah,, the only recent sets/theme that are able to attract me are their modular house set. However, they were designed by LEGO fans but not the designer......so.......sigh. -
besides, I am a bit curious that some people vote for caribbean clipper just because it has more minifigs ( not only here, also some friends of mine that i ve talked to ) LEGO has a trend that offering fewer and fewer minifigs in their set: clipper in 89 =5, imperial flagship in 92 = 4, finally armada flagship in 96 just 3. Not only pirates line, also in others such as castle. So I think it ll be a bit not fair by judging a ship is better just because it has more men. And ,you know, minifigs can be added as many as you want by the owner. I prefer voting a "ship" by focusing its design, appearance, firepower, etc, which are "really owned by the ship". However, for sure you can focusing on the number of minifigs if we are comparing "sets". It's a matter of comparing "ship" and "set" and I think we are voting for "ship" in here, arent we?

imperial flag ship is much better. I got one as present 1x years ago. Later on, I have bought both 6285 and 6286 from ebay that I missed when I was small. But I havent thought of buying a caribbean clipper. I feel no interesting at all. Fair enough, the flagship is better than the clipper, but the barracuda is better than the schoonner. The 89 and 92-93 pirate line, each won once. But if for voting "good guy ship", I will prefer adding the armada flagship too. For me, the imperial and armada flagship show very close quality. They will be the real one that difficult to decide which is better. Armada's appearance is better, but generally weaker as a"flagship": just 1 cannon, less bricks (and also just 3 men). They are really very close, so, I own them both.

hi, just a bit comment, hope u wont mind. I love the fort, and the cathedral so much, really impressive work. but the village houses seems a bit strange to me. I dont know how to say and what's the reason. I am also thinking of how to add a 10185 green grocer modular house to my pirate theme. The medieval market also was considered before but it's also not so fit. So I recently have been thinking and focusing on how to works this well. Here is some points that I think maybe the factors: Scale: the door frame of the houses just a bit larger than a minifigs, but the one in the cathedral and the fort is much larger. It means that the scale of the houses is a bit small to fit with the fort in the minifigs' view. Although this does happen in our really world, "a cathedral door is much much larger that our own house", but it's a bit strange to put them too close that cause a contrast. Colour: I really love the white main building, but the other colours houses seems destroy it's beauty. However, the colours of the houses do show its reallity in the 17,18 centry. I am still working on colour skeme, the best way is I think, building a white/yellow fort as a theme, and building another pirate and village with darker colour as another theme, but never put them together. Or, build the fort with "stone", in a dark grey colour skeme as in real world. Then they will fit better. Here is an example that I saw in here and i really like. http://www.flickr.com/photos/26161965@N06/...57610393171223/ At last, I suggest maybe you can build a "governor house"? or something like government department in a white colour skeme with grand decoration. This may fit the fort and the cathedral better in appearance, and in sense.

yes, it is a re- release set as I wrote above. 10021, a re-release set 398 from 1978. Besides, if talking about "model", I was attracted by the "modular house" recently, especially 10185. Really a MUST HAVE set. I am think of having one and changing its decoration to make it fits our pirate's time line. Unfortunately I am still "thinking", as all my money gone, "robbed" by the pirates and their 6285 and 6286 ships.
