It looks like he used glue. Shame shame. 8-

Actually, Aayla, in EU, like Hinckley said, Mara Jade went undercover in Jabba's Palace as the dancer Arica. I didn't take notice of that particular scene in the new version, but it still is possible.

Someone's gotten the Sith Infiltrator
Janus replied to Two-Faced Batman Fan's topic in LEGO Star Wars
You think it's worse than the original, simonwillems? I just don't understand...the old one looks like a semi-triangular piece of paper with a TIE Advanced stuck to the back. Would you mind elaborating? -
Exclusive EB Review: 7093 - Skeleton Tower
Janus replied to Starwars4J's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I picked up the Castle Siege, Catapult, and Crossbow sets already, and I was contemplating this one. Though it is a bit lacking in detail, I think it'll be worth the money. I have plenty of extras from my torn apart Vladek's Dark Fortress to spruce it up a bit! Still have to get the Skeleton Cart and find the Joust sets...this is the best Castle theme in a long time! -
Wow...too much to buy. MTT is amazing, that is first on my list. Jedi Starfighter is up there, as it's a sleek ship and comes with Kit Fisto *wub* . Echo Base for the snow and rebel troopers, along with the snowspeeder and parts for an MOC Echo Base that I want to do. Republic Cruiser...that might have to be pushed back. As much as I want fleshy Quiggy and Obi to match my others, it's too much right now. Naboo Starfighter and TIE Crawler...eh. Maybe sometime. They're cool, but nothing extraordinary.

Well they need to make the set right this time. Battle Packs are where it's at. A few gungans, a Kaadu, and some device for launching the balls. Knowing LEGO, it'd be some kind of modified Zamor sphere launcher with blue spheres, which, honestly, wouldn't be too bad or too off from the movie. Those Zamor sphere launchers are some of the best launchers LEGO has come up with.

Hey, this got bumped. Wow, it's been a while since I did this review.

The Republic Cruiser is awesome. I'm amassing a nice fleshie collection now, and a new Quiggy and Obi, along with some officers and an awesome astromech are welcome. The ship itself looks very nice, and will look even nicer next to my minifig ISD. As for the Hoth set, I plan on buying this and beginning work on the Echo Base Docking Bay. I may have to extend the door a bit, but at least it will give me the pieces to get started. Maybe I will buy 2...more troopers, more door pieces, and another snowspeeder...yeah, I'll definitely get 2. On a side note, I am loving these new guns! Seeing the little snowtroopers with an E-Web and actual Blaster Rifles...it's a great sight.

So many classic LEGO touches to this set. The cave with the treasure in it, the little wooden shack on the right side, a nice looking torn sail, a pirate hat...LEGO is starting to get it. I will be purchasing this set along with the whole line.

How are we supposed to be surprised when you tell us exactly what you are showing? :-D

Yeah, nice work making the channels screen. Clever ideas. I've got a Wii and a 360 myself. Just picked up Sonic and the Secret Rings the other day, and I'm pretty impressed.

Absolutely beautiful. The detail in the trench...stunning. I had actually been thinking about how to implement a trench, and I had never thought of building up a hill like that. Smart.
-
Very cool! My only complaint is that you have the old AT-ST and not the hot new one. :-P
-
I agree. If there were a new Paradisa line, I would definitely buy. My (growing) town has, if I recall correctly, 2 women.

To answer the question, no, Playmobil doesn't do very well here in the US. It's nearly impossible to find them anywhere.

I understand your concern with the larger scaling not perfectly synchronizing with the old sets, however, I think they are more realistic now then ever. For example, yes, the new 8 wide dump truck barely fits on the road, but have you seen dump trucks on the road before? You practically have to swerve around those massive things. The scale looks perfect compared to minifigs to me, and I really like that. Of course, I am a bit biased...I had only a select few town kits as a kid, but now I can buy whatever sets I want, so I have way more City than Town, and the only scaling issue that really affects me is the current comparison to reality. 6 wide standard works a lot better in that respect, I think. It shouldn't be too much of a stretch to make a realistically bigger vehicle be an 8 wide LEGO vehicle.

Why not. I'm in.

Jinzo: Obra means Work. The title does literally translate into Big Work Truck.

Wow, I FINALLY found out how to log in again. I haven't been able to for months because I kept using "Janus" as my log in name instead of the actual one. I'm very excited for 07. With the more classic look of the new Fire Station, I think we can expect great things from this new batch of City.

All other new 2007 sets (including new theme)
Janus replied to sam89's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think I've come up with a pretty good assumption of what Aqua Raiders are. Think Viking villains (bionicle/technic beasts) with Dino 2010/Attack heroes. TLC established a story (or at least names) of the Dino characters, so why not continue with them in a new theme? As much as I would like to see the return of a host of generic divers (not to mention knights, pirates, spacemen, etc.) with one leader who comes in a $5 set and the biggest set, TLC just doesn't seem to like that old idea anymore. They like the idea of 4 Heroes, and it's likely they'll stick with it, and it's possible the Dino guys will return again, this time Underwater, because it has happened before (think Alpha Force). -
Fantastic job. I love the Nova Craft especially. Great work, keep it up.
-
As much as I would like that, being a fan of the show as well, it will never happen. Sadly, despite the enjoyability of it, it is no longer on Nickelodeon, so the target market of Lego, the children whose ages you see on the boxes, will either only very faintly remember it or not know of it at all. That is not a safe enough bet for TLC to take, while Spongebob and Avatar are much safer, as they are currently showing on Nick and fairly popular.

Valhalla's stepchildren? Does that mean...VIKINGS?
-
Greeblies? I've not heard that term before. Could someone give me a definition?

Sorry, I don't have the Krusty Krab...yet. I may pick it up at some point though.
