  1. I think they are referring to the black cables. They are in the wrong position on the pod itself. they should be on the sides not on the front. Here is a link to some pics etc that should help with the location of the cables and the "lightning" power binders that connect to the engines.
  2. I like it. I think we need some smaller ones plastered onboard some of the cruisers. The only thing I can think of that would have touched this off nicely if it was either commander cody or captain rex standing there with the broom to stick the poster up.
  3. All we need now is the crashed version just prior to the AT-AT stepping on it.
  4. Yeah and we all drive lego cars to work. Hey at least we won't die from a car accident.......we'll just go to pieces instead. Just getting put back together could pose a problem.
  5. The only gripe I had with this series was it was released in the incorrect order. We take the clone wars movie for instance. It introduces Ahsoka which is all good and fine. However there are episodes with her in them from almost the start. Its not until the episode: "the hidden enemy" (which is on the 3rd dvd last episode) which takes place on the planet christophosis or however its spelt. The clone wars movie continues after the traitor is captured and it all falls into place. They should have had that as the first episode to bridge the gap into the movie as in the episode I think there is mention of the republic getting Jabba to sign a treaty for the trade routes and then of course his son is captured sparking the story for the movie. Also the trident is sitting there and Ventress is given a mission from count Dooku to capture Jabba's son. The malevolence series should have been put in place a bit later. Perhaps after the Ryloth series of episodes. This way it would have given the presence of the ship a bit more volume and life as we would all be lead to believe that the ship had been active for some time. My personal favourite was the last episode of the series with that new merc Cad Bane, he looked so much like lonestar it wasn't funny. He also spoke in a similar way to a cult anti hero, Dirty Harry.
  6. Big Cam your comment on the side weapons is actually true. One is a grenade launcher and the other is a light repeating blaster. Usually the AT-ST is driven by 2, the driver who also fires the main cannon and the gunner who fires the grenades and light blaster.
  7. This is more a question in regards to the new tantive 4 set that has been released. My friends and myself have not seen it yet here in australia. Has anyone here in australia spotted it yet?
  8. Mine would have to be set 4504 MF. However I am planning on getting the tantive 4 so that could change........
  9. I would have to say the technic lego pit droid is the worst set I have and have ever seen. The set number is 8000. The color of it is all wrong.....tan and green yuck what was lego thinking at the time? Here is a pic of it. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=lego%2...es%2F8000-1.jpg Sorry about the link but I only did a search for it via bing.
  10. Nice review and thanks. I will be getting this as well soon. I just have to wait for my local Kmart to get them in stock so I can layby one. It looks great as a display model as well. It also looks a bit better than the USC one as well.
  11. Yeah it is. It's also solid. By that I mean its not hollow. http://exoforce.lego.com/en-US/buildingins...ns/default.aspx If you look at 7700 to 7703 you can see them. They are plugged into a light pack which is at the back of the mechs and when you press a button it lights up the beam (red) to the weapon to indicate its powered up. The tubing is very flexible as the arm has almost full articulation so it has to be able to bend with the arm.
  12. Hey guys the exo-force sets use the transparent tubing. Great battle there. Nicely done.
  13. Bows to the master.......damn that was huge. It makes me wonder if anyone has bothered to do the babylon 5 space station like this before? I know its not star wars, but that thing was big as well.
  14. I am not one for detail here, but there is a vast difference in regards to the scale of what these sets were released for. 7778 is midi scale 4488 is mini scale I haven't missed the point in regards to the stickers and print plates, they do look almost the same and the midi does have more detail on it, as its meant to.....its bigger.
  15. Very nice Rook. You don't have the falcon by chance do you? I only ask this because it seems that you have used portions of the manual of the falcon to build the shape of the ship. I am not saying its a bad thing if you did this as its what I would do. Because its the only way to get the correct roundness needed, lego used those click hinge pieces to do that. I also agree with you that some official sets are just bad. Would lego do the YT 2000? Doubtful as most people will just MOC the falcon into one anyway.
  16. I think they are worried about them "spliting" over time. Or some just can't get the air bubbles out.lol
  17. Yeah it does have some great MOCing potential for those who want to make it into something else.
  18. Torax it is available on bricklink. Here is the link to that set directly. http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?viewFr...ort=P&sz=25 There are a few going on there. The most outrageous price is the one at $1000.
  19. Ok. Also I noticed you didn't use the stickers. Why is that?
  20. That looks more like either a flash reflection off the lego due to another light source which can happen. (Just take a look at my falcon review) Or it could be the lens is dirty/has a smudge on it. Also some camera's have a "softness" mode where it makes the picture softer around the edges, check to see if its that.
  21. I got this set yesterday and its not a bad set. However it does have its short comings. This variant is the BTL-B y-wing which is the true y-wing as such. This was before all the extra panels were removed. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/BTL-B_Y-wing_starfighter The other two variants are: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/BTL-S3_Y-wing_starfighter http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/BTL-A4_Y-wing_starfighter Anyway onto the review. It took me about 2 hours to build with the first hour was spent sorting through the colour pieces. The design is almost identical to the last y-wing set. The ship also comes together quite well with great use of SNOT techniques. Front of the box. Close up of figs on box. Back of the box. Close up of storage area for the light saber's. A shot of R2 shooting a missle. Close up of the cockpit. Box opened up. As you can see you get about half a box of pieces. The manual. Sticker's. Minifig's. The frame in various points of build. SNOT pieces added. Minor details added and color (white) plates added. Page taken from manual with the missile firing device being attached. Underside shot with missile device attached and engines. The missile device also doubles as landing gear of sorts. Slowly it starts to take shape.... Engine blocks added. From the rear showing off minor detail at the back. Front profile shot. The "white" bracket for the engines. There are 8 of these. So for simplicity reasons I have shown just the one as there are no variations in them..... ......and expanded. Cockpit and rear "bubble" gun added. Engine brackets also added. Rear shot Front shot Everyone strapped in, rear storage hatch added. Another rear shot with the yellow inner panels added. They were in the above shot but this shows them better. Top view showing the distinct shape. Rear storage hatch open showing the light saber's. Parts left over. Now the next series of shots show off some of the "bad" points about the set. This one is how badly the engines are supported with only 3 pins. The length and weight of the engines causes a notable sag which I will show later. This next shot is just to show the size of the engines in regards to the mounts. Underside shot showing some spaces and notable lack of landing gear. The ship sits on the missile mount per se. Gap near the nose section. On the top this is hidden by the white SNOT set. Again gaps here in the inner canards of the beam support where the engines are mounted. Could have done with some yellow plates to cover this up. Gap in the window where Ahsoka sits. You should be able to tell by the colour difference where her arm is. Here is the engine sag as mentioned earlier. This first shot is without me holding the end of the engine so it sits flush. Reference point for this is the grey piece where the yellow panel sits. This next shot is me holding the engine at the end so it sits correctly. Again reference is the same as above. The grey piece where the yellow panel sits. Overall I do like the set despite its short falls. It shows the y-wing pre ep4 with all the panels in place. The other difference being that WW2 style bubble gunner seat which is a nice touch. The lack of landing gear etc really hurts this. It reminds me too much of the naboo n1 set where the whole ship sat on a landing platform with the pin of the missle shooter thing would go into it and as a result you would end up shooting the missle out about 4 times just to get the fighter to "sit".
  22. I did notice a slight discrepancy as such with the seating of han and chewie in the cockpit. This is how mine sit. And overhead It appears as though your chewie is sitting directly behind han. He is meant to sit one stud to the side and one stud back to han. The best way to achieve this is to lower chewies left hand all the way down. Hans elbow sits just above chewies arm/hand.
  23. Hey nice one too. I found the flash button on my camera the other day and know how to turn it off now......of course that doesn't help me now that I have already taken the pics. Anyway not sure if you saw my review on the SD. Here is a link to it to save some time. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=32758
  24. The second picture has the figures sitting in the falcon. I no longer have the box.
  25. I got this set quite a while ago and had never done a review on it. So here goes. The falcon was released before the numbered bag system was put into place so building it took me over 4 hours, most of which was spent trying to find pieces as most are small. The base is the most interesting part of it as when you start to build it, it doesn't seem like much, but it ends up being very strong. The use of click hinges are used well in the set to create the "round" shape at the rear and front. Due to size limitations there are no hidden smuggling compartments. Also due to the fact that the landing gear is detachable there is no underside cannon. Build 10/10 the falcon comes together easily and nicely. No getting confused with colors on this set in the manual. Price per parts 10/10 at the time I purchased it for $150 from toyworld. I think it was the only one they had left and were just trying to get rid of it as it had been marked down a few times. It's just shy of 1000 pieces which as I said is mostly small parts. Likeness to the real deal, 8/10 as the cargo mandibles are severly undersized compared with the rest of the ship, but everything is spot on. By far my most favourite set/ship to date. Lego really out did themselves with this bad boy. The master builders/designers at lego made sure that they got it right. There was another falcon made before the 4504 but it was horrendous. Not sure if you can order it via lego's site as it is now retired. You might get lucky on ebay. For the obvious reasons it is far smaller than the UCS one, however as a result of this, it is far easier to pick up. First off just some cross ref pics with wookiepedia and my happy snaps. Wookiepedia info, including some history on the ship. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Millennium_Falcon Top shot of mine Opened up Now as you can see on the opened shot there, there appears to be something on the right under the mid beam......Its an escape module. The outer hatch opens up and it comes out. Perfect way to get rid of a pesky protocol droid. Boarding ramp in the up position Boarding ramp lowered Topside shot with parts removed to show the ramp in the up position When you pull on the boarding hatch to the left the ramp lowers. The other boarding hatch. Oh what's this? Oh it's the escape pod. Topside shot with parts removed to show where the pod sits And with the pod removed. Topside shot of the falcon showing everything as a reference Another topside shot with the ramp down and the pod removed. Rear shot of the falcon showing off the engines and minor detail Side comparison shot with the escape pod in the foreground. The escape pod itself opened up. The top is on the right.
