  1. Just got Ekimu vs Kulta, and I have to say, I'm very impressed. Ekimu and the MoC are the highlights of the set, but Kulta, despite the gap and the posing difficulties, looks imposing and pretty cool. My only other issue is the stiff ball-joints, which would annoy me a little if I played with the sets rather than posed them. Other than that, I highly recommend the set!
  2. And here's Jang's review of Skull Basher This one still looks the best to me out of all of the smaller sets.
  3. I also like how Grinder, Warrior and Basher continue the rib cage theme in their chest prints, another nice touch that shows the designer's attention to detail.
  4. Basher's chain is symmetrical and Grinder is asymmetrical is you take his weapons into account. EDIT: sorry if that sounds aggressive, I get where you're coming from, just making a few clarifications.
  5. I like the sets a lot more with these new pics from BZP and Toy Ark. Skull Warrior looks much cooler to me now, as does Silcer. Skull Basher and Grinder still look like the only ones I'm going to get, and Scorpio remains shitty (although I am a fan of the "spooky" graveyard in the background of his box). I still am intrigued by the hands on the box art, are they the Toa, Protectors, or as yet unheard of characters? But, yeah much more impressed now I've got a closer look!
  6. Personally, while I don't hate the new sets as much as some, I think Skull Grinder is the only one who manages to pull of the skeletal look, despite being the most armoured. With Ekimu also looking great, this seems to be the best set, at least until we see better pics of the rest. Also, is it just me, or is Skull Slicer using his whip to catch Lewa's mask? Could this lend credence to the idea of the Toa's masks not being placeholders? And whose decision was it to put red onto Skull Warrior? Because that was an awful idea, and really ruins the set IMO
  7. Just got back from the London Stratford Lego Store inside Westfield with Tahu and Gali. The guy at the shop was very nice, and we chatted about the sets for a bit, which was nice. I am very happy with the quality of the sets, although Tahu's legs are funny - they're extremely hard to pose, thanks to the added 'leg extender' part, which keeps on snapping off the rest of the leg whenever I try to move it... Other than that, the sets are fantastic, really great, and I'm looking forward to getting more!
  8. Do we know anything about the ancient city the LOSS is guarding in this scan: http://41.media.tumblr.com/24842b59d3f30965f32f31e86dabffd8/tumblr_nh9t1nIPT61sy13izo6_1280.jpg? Forgive me if we do, but I can't see anything resembling a city on the map of Okoto.
  9. It could be that the MoUP appears in the Skull Grinder set as the mask the two are fighting for possession of? Either way it looks cool, and I think it's probably just Skull Grinder's mask, as the animation version of the MoUP looks v. different.
  10. The Temple of Time!? Has anyone checked any of the toy stores in London? I would, but am too lazy :P
  11. Life Itself is really amazing. As a hug fan of Rodger Ebert I was moved to tears by the ending. A really great documentary for fans of Ebert, and those who've never heard of him. (sorry if this movie has already been mentioned loads, it only just came to a cinema near me!)
  12. Pohatu review is up on BZP: http://bzpower.com/story.php?ID=7159
  13. No TV show guys, just short web animations :(
  14. https://www.facebook...510720592502352 Kopaka has skis! #hikermike
  15. How strange, I too am ill (no seriously, I threw up this morning (not nice)) Since this is the calm before the storm, I thought I might finally share my thoughts on the sets. In short: they all look amazing; I've grown to love the new Hau (from some angles), and the rest of the Toa (sorry, 'Masters') look equally cool. My fav is probably Onua or Kopaka. I love how Onua's chest print is an 01 Pakari, and I might be the only one here who likes Kopaka's chunky legs. This really is an exciting day for BIONICLE, and I can't wait to see what's revealed (hopefully some kind of trailer, I want to see something new!!)
  16. Wow wow wow, this is awesome news! Kopaka is definitely my fav, despite the weird staff :P I also love Tahu, and Lewa is pretty cool. I'm a bit disappointed by Onua, as I liked his thin look with his claws. Ah well, you win some you loose some! Gali is also pretty boring, but I'm pretty sure her mask will change: it looks fatter in the standee pic. I like the defenders, but the Skull Kraata looks...ehh.
  17. Wow. Just wow. This is so exciting! I'm getting really nostalgic for the old days of speculating over blurry images, until BZP posts something clear and exciting. Whoop.
  18. Yeah, I saw that, and wondered if it was BIONICLE, but the whole 'brand new theme' put me off. It could still be, though. Seems like a perfect time to announce it.
  19. When (and from what websites) did we get these pictures? As for the confidential markings, I never minded them, because normally the pictures underneath aren't that blurry, so you can still make out key features and parts.
  20. In 2001, the only villains were the Rahi, which the Skull/mask spiders seem to be replacing here. Wave 2 could potentially feature some sort of Bohrok replacement, meaning we're returning to pre-2008 set releases, with the Toa in one wave, and the villains in the next wave.
  21. I hope it's a reboot. That way we have a chance of getting the Barraki in 2021! ;P EDIT: Woop 100 posts since 2009! That's really slow...
  22. Well, my first set was the Visorak Battle Ram :P So I'm not sure how that's going to work. I'll probs get Gali and Kopaka first, as water and ice were always my favourite.
  23. Greg's reply : 'We are working on the first issues of LEGO Magazine and LEGO Club Jr. magazine for 2015 now. We are NOT working on a BIONICLE comic for 2015.' Source : https://community.lego.com/t5/LEGO-General/Chat-with-Greg-Farshtey/td-p/6605180/page/376
  24. Well, Hero Factory didn't, but Bionicle did get a mention in TLM 1, so it could happen. I personally doubt it though, Bionicle, with its rich storyline might not lend itself as readily to the themes of creativity in the film. Although, the plot could be that to be creative you have to think outside the story and not let it limit you... TL;DR - I don't know
