  1. Ebay Didn’t pan out so I am giving craigslist a go please feel free to spread the link and or any constructive criticism you can give. http://miami.craigslist.org/brw/tag/1529119476.html
  2. We got a bidder! Don’t let it get away ;-) If you’ve ever wondered if your children “love” you or just “like” you , Buy them an 8’2” Lego Cruise Ship just to be sure ;-) But seriously, if the bidder is any of you guys please drop me an ebay email with your EB Screen name and I'll even credit the winner back 10% for being an EB Member. Ebay Link to Lego Ship Thanks so much for spreading the word! You guys have been truly awesome! ~A
  3. That’s a very good idea VBBN, What other sites do you recommend? This Forum seems to be the leader in LEGO information and fans on the web, I would love to hear of other sites. Thanks! ~A Good tip, I do have much larger pictures, I just shrunk them for fast loading, I'll look into a photo hosting site for all her pics. Thanks! ~A Haha LOL yeah most everyone makes a comment about her ;-) She's my wife. And been Very tollerant of an 8'2" lego boat in the house she even helped build it. She rocks. Thanks! ~A I did send pictures to Lego, they loved her, but not enough to buy her… they just complimented her and mailed me the information to get Lego Certified to build more LOL I would LOVE to once we get all this nasty financial recession stuff sorted. I think next I’ll Build a ten foot one that floats… Ah to dream! Thanks for the tip though! ~A I will put up bigger pictures, that is a good tip. I did email Celebrity I actually design their new-builds and Re-fits... I was hesitant, because All I need is a foreclosure and a law suit LOL incase they got all twitchy about copy writes and such. But so far no word from them either way. She would make a perfect center piece on any of their ships in a Children’s Play room or something, Cunard, NCL and Carnival all have a full sized lego ship on board already Celebrity should keep up with the joneses ;-) Thanks for the note though! All the comments are appreciated. ~A
  4. Mammoth 8’2” Lego Cruise Ship for sale. Hey all as previously mentioned I’ve been forced to reluctantly auction my Lego MOC Ebay Link, to description and Pictures. Please pass this link to whomever you can think of ideally I would like her to be bought by a Corporation, Theme Park or Museum, for all to enjoy. But at this point an individual who will cherish her would be welcome too As LEGO pros and connoisseurs I would appreciate your appraisal of her as well. What do you think she would be worth, She has in the neighborhood of 60,000 plus LEGOs She measures 8’2” Stem to stern, by 13” wide by 22” to the top of her stack. 100 Mini-figures Passengers, Cruise Staff and Officers are included. Mostly made from re-enjoyed Lego, she’s made from thousands of new blocks and specialty pieces. All painstakingly cleaned and sorted (And re-sorted) All 100% Lego blocks. Designed and Built by an actual Cruise Ship Designer in Fort Lauderdale Florida from the Original Blue Prints. $640.00 Custom Crate will be made for her, included in the sale price, From a firm in Fort Lauderdale that makes custom crates with experience shipping precious ship models even dinosaur bones. If the auction does not go through I will be forced to consider donating her to a children’s charity and hopefully utilizing a decent write off. So please help if you have any contacts in the Lego World that might be interested in her. Ask any questions you wish. Can’t thank you enough, unfortunately I'm heading for forclosure so if I'm living under a bridge I can only hope she finds a home *laugh* ~A
  5. I like the way you think Cam LOL you’re right, other than the “X” on the stack she doesn’t look like any of their new ships. I would figure they would want one, Cunard, Carnival and NCL have Scale Lego Models on board already… I currently have the Reserve set for $9000.00 But I intend to Lower it to wherever it needs to be. 60,000 Legos weren’t cheap that’s for sure. LOL I would actually appreciate everyone’s input on an approximate value for her coming from LEGO connoisseurs of the world. Now that I think of it accurate appraisals from the “Pros” would be appreciated, my absolute last resort is to Donate her complete to a Children’s Charity but I would need an appraised value for that. Ok thanks again! Talk soon ~Aaron
  6. Thanks Cam I appreciate all the forwarding it can handle. Yeah after much hesitation, I did send an email to Celebrity Cruises, She is modeled after Two of their old ships not in their fleet anymore the Horizon and Zenith. I was hesitant to do that, incase they got all twitchy about copywrites and such, all I need is a foreclosure and a lawsuit LOL But I guess they can’t get blood out of a rock ;-) Who knows I would like to see Celebrity save money on Lawyers and just buy her, she would make a perfect centre piece in one of the Children’s playrooms on board. Still time in the Auction, 28 people have saved her to their “watch list” and 385 Unique IP addresses have viewed her, So there is that bit of optimism. Thanks again for any help. Talk soon ~Aaron
  7. Thanks TheOtters, I appreciate the reply. Yeah we can’t complain too much, there are thousands of people in America far worse off than us. We’re definitely not alone. Thank you for forwarding the link, any and all help will be sincerely appreciated! Talk soon! ~A
  8. First off if this is in the wrong spot, I apologize to the moderators. So where is this 'easy' help you ask? I’m auctioning my Gigantic MOC 8'2" Cruise Ship, help forwarding link beyond greatly appreciated. Just in time for the Holidays! What to get the person who has everything? An 8'2" Cruise Ship made entirely of Lego of course! Hi all, I haven’t posted in a while, life’s been "‘hectic" to say the least, like quite a few of you guys as well I would imagine. So with a very heavy heart, I am forced to auction my 8'2" MOC Cruise Ship. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=31291"]Forum Link://http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/ind...uot;]Forum Link://http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/ind...uot;]Forum Link Ebay Auction Link A portion of the Proceeds will Go to the Broward County Boys and Girls Club, and another equal portion will go to the Joe DiMaggio Children’s hospital. (Ebay would only let me pick one) So here's where the help for the community comes in. Obviously in this forum, anyone who wanted an 8’2” Cruise Ship would make their own LOL So it’s your contacts I need, please take a moment and think of anyone who might be interested, Corporation, Museum, Theme Parks Etc… I would love to see her on display somewhere for all to enjoy. I would out and out donate the entire ship to the Lego Museum, but as I had mentioned… Life’s been ‘hectic’ to say the least. My Mortgage company is playing hard ball… By hard ball I mean foreclosing :-( I lost count of her actual number of bricks. I’ll be able to come up with a fairly accurate number when she is weighed for shipping. I’ll divide her weight against a standard 2X4 block and calculate an approximation that way, I am confident she has Well over 50,000 blocks and Under 80,000 She measures 8’2” (Length Stem to Stern) X 13” (Beam) and 22” to the top of her stack. So please help if you have any contacts in the Lego World that might be interested in her. Ask any questions you wish. Can’t thank you enough I REALLY apologize for 'selling' on this forum, if it wasn't critical (imminent foreclosure) I swear I wouldn't bother you. Talk soon! ~Aaron
  9. Hi there and thank you for the compliment! I will see what I can find, through the nine month build process, I had two camera melt downs LOL I will dig up the pictures from the first months for you! ~A Absolutely! There is an open gallery here http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=1151...mp;l=01a3496e95 http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=1151...mp;l=01a3496e95 As far as the larg high rez pictures, I do have them, I just need to find a photohosting site that will allow the high rez versions. Thank you so much for the cudos! ~A LOL Thank you, its been an amzingly warm welcome here! Now I just need to think of my next large ship. I think I will take the above mentioned sugestions, and make a new ship with a tiled finish with a complete displacement hull and make her float! Will post as I start that new project! ~A
  10. Hi there, thank you for the compliment! I was thinking of a tiled finish, but was wondering if it would take away from the “Lego-ness” LOL Who knows, The above mentioned railing suggestion was good, and a tiled finish would without a doubt look good…But just when do I stop spending money on her LOL The Bow was tricky, that’s the third bow I made for her, Her first two were ‘ok’ but a bit too blocky and pointy. That bow is all solid, with an intricate crash bulkhead that no one will ever get to see LOL There is no interior, except for the little lido grill, and mast bar, but she does contain the exact same amount of fire zones and watertight zones as the actual Horizon and Zenith. Thanks for your note! If I tile her, Ill post more pictures and give you credit! ~A
  11. Thank you so much for the welcome and compliment! I am pleased with her scale and proportions, Not sure if its “LEGO Cheating” or not, but I built her from scaled to LEGO actual blue prints of the ship. Not to mention a long long time ago, I used to live and work aboard the Horizon and Zenith for four years or so… so they are very much “my homes” LOL Thanks again! Talk soon!
  12. Wow LOVE the city, so much great work! LOVED the cops on Segways LOL (Or however you spell it) Monumental undertaking! Great job! ~A
  13. Thank you for the compliment, Yeah I did have railings on the upper decks, Strange optical illusion, it made her look very choppy… I might have just chosen the wrong railings, not sure. As far as the maiden voyage… LOL she could possibly float, but what you see there at the board is the actual waterline of the ship, I would need to make another lower three decks solid and use the weight blocks LEGO has to keep her from tipping (Whole Iceberg theory) As heavy as she is, her lower decks would have to be 2/3rd heavier than her upper decks. She does have enough surface area to displace her own weight to make her float, possibility for the future I guess ;-) Well thanks again! Talk soon! ~A
  14. Hi there, just a quick note to say hi! I am an Actual Cruise Ship Designer here in Fort Lauderdale Florida, I work on massively large scale projects, Usually Scaled Cruise Ships. (Build what you know, I guess LOL) Thank you for the warm welcome, and I look forward to getting to know all of you. Very Best Regards, ~Aaron
  15. Hi there, thank you for the compliment, and the welcome! It took around nine months off and on building, I guestimated around 10 hours a week to be conservative, so around 360hours. There was a Crazy month in there, where we bought a new house and got married and such… LOL With most large scale projects it’s a shame, most of the time and detail went on the inside where no one can see. *laugh* As I mentioned before I am a an actual cruise ship designer, so I built her as I would out of steel, she has the same number of watertight bulkheads and firezones inside as the Actual Horizon and Zenith, she even has an elaborate crash bulkhead in her bow (Which I hope she never has to use ;-) Thank you again for the welcome and the compliment! Talk soon! ~A Hi there, thank you for the compliment, and the correction in my title, I appreciate that. Ask anything you wish, I can’t believe it took me this long to find your site! Gawd knows I love talking about the boat! LOL Talk soon! ~A Thank you 5150! I appreciate that! Im sure we'll talk more soon! ~A
