Great work, nice selection of pieces from different themes. I agree with TheBrickster on the police torso: the badge and the tie make it look too modern. The pirate captain torso took a few seconds to appreciate.

I'm sure 6021 Jousting Knights was my first castle set because I have a picture of myself posing next to a Lego castle built of basic bricks with these guys defending it. Ah, the memories...

My Town and Pirates sigfigs respectively:
-
Yeah, you get your set number as a prize. Just wish really hard.

Great collection! I will only have half of it once I finally order my copy of the Imperial Flagship. I 'only' have BSB, Brickbeard's Bounty, and the trading ship from Imperal Trading Post now.

Sweeeeeeeet! Regrettably, the tan house is the one creator house I'm missing so far. This is a nice downtown house (I hope the upcoming 8403 City House will be something like this, in City style obviously). I like the interior details. Wild B-day party going on upstairs that seems to attract some attention

I'd like to be in the group shot... first time for me. Please include my town sigfig (the guy from the modular Fire Station, i.e. DARK BROWN hair, with a different head).
-
Save. Imperial Flag Ship looks more finished with its complete deck. Besides it has more realistic sails and masts. The only thing that really speaks for Brickbeard's Bounty is its color scheme. Dark red and gold... mmm
-
Nice ship. I especially like the color scheme for the sides (the red stripe is a nice touch) and the decks.

I think the train sets will indeed be a relatively cost-effective way to get a complete set of PF. In setting the price of the sets TLG obviously has to consider keeping the price for 'a train set' within bounds: customers (parents/kids) see a train set and not a brick-built train and a set of PF.

That way you'd miss out on a lot of members that (have the potential to) contribute much to EB, be it in terms of discussions or MOCs. Assuming everyone over 18 can behave in here is equally naive. The staff are generally doing a very good job at deciding who to allow/tolerate and who to ban, both underage and mature members (luckily not everyone over 18 is unconditionally allowed on here).

Thanks. Definitely appears to be this year's airline promo. You know you won't be able to resits once you see it. But, I must say I have the same mixed feelings about it at this point.
-
It sure is a new picture, but this isn't even Lego.
-
It mainly has to do with the soft material (there's been a similar thread in the Pirates forum) that many weapons are made of. Spears, pirates pistols, and 80s swords for example are made from a harder material and aren't damaged when clipped into minifigs' hands. The softer bows, new swords, and pirates cutlasses for example are softer and get damaged slightly when put into minifigs' hands.

I don't know anything about what this is based on, but this looks superb! The obvious eye-catcher is of course the tower, but houses below are also really nice. Very well done!
-
Given the amount of parts it definitely looks decent! Getting these for free is great, because it gives you a nice selection of car-building parts and those two trans-panels are always welcome, but I wouldn't go out to buy one of these.

I think you've shown your commitment to the Pirates-theme by winning a certain award recently... if it were up to me I'd know who to select but we'll leave that up to the crew of course... And you're right: Pirates indeed is a friendly tight community, especially now that the bluecoat versus redcoat tournament is over. The jokes were dominating the atmosphere on the board at a certain point. I especially enjoy being able to read constructive comments on MOCs now, without having a redcoat versus bluecoat joke as every second post

Nice one, but next time be sure to include some fish whacking as well.
-
Nice find, definitely promo sets. Good part selection though. The parrot is an original idea.

Your downtown area is great, but I had already seen most of the modulars-converted-to-city-scale before (in this thread). Anyway, great job on that! I'm really a fan of the scale you use for your buildings. It's pretty close to 'Town Plan' scale I'd say. The construction of the brick-built tree is pretty clever.

Like this? Captain Kirk cake

It is a nice little car, but I agree with Dennimator that most builders wouldn't consider that 5-wide, but for a car that side I'd probably also go for 4-wide. The wheel arches aren't really suitable for small cars like this one and the wheels are also a bit large. The fenders and wheels used on Lego's new small car set would look much better.

No, the pictures last linked are the scans of the full pages of the Dutch dealer catalog, from which the ones that we've seen before are cut-outs. The full pages were on Brickshelf before, but were quickly removed. So: nothing new.

Thanks for the review LLP. It has a pretty good parts selection. The only downsides are - like you mentioned - the same old minifig yet again and the two hidden gray 'slopes' in the construction. Two 2 x 4 plates would have been much better! But I guess it has to do with either cost or the ease of building/taking apart for kids. But it reduces alternate building options significantly. Classic town sets used to have much better piece variety and therefore lend themselves better to alternate builds.

It was only a matter of time before someone would do a Smart dealership, but you did a really outstanding job on it. Not too big, just right!
