Hi, This is a little off topic I know, but I understand the issues with the euro and weak pound however this is stock that was in their warehouse last year {at least 3 months old} and they paid for it {if what he manager tells me is true} over 6 months ago. Its like petrol prices, they always go straight up, but take forever to come down. I know thats slightly different as thats linked to tax and specific dates, but its the principles. They are just making more profit on this stock than they did before xmas. Cheers Alex.

Hi, Smyths in Walsall have restocked {they were adding in new stock just yesterday afternoon} and have even got some Spongebob sets as well as the following which I noticed; New SW battlepacks [8014 & 8015] New power miners sets New SW hyena droid bomber New city sets New Creator sets They also seem to have some large Agents sets up on top of the shelves, but could not see which ones they were. All the prices have gone up mind you! They have also put the prices up for the older SW battle packs [7667 & 7668] to the same as that for the new ones to £9.99 each, I find this very annoying as they are the same stock they had before Xmas and were selling at £8.99. This is an 11.1% increase in price. So much for Gordon Browns change in VAT eh! Cheers Alex.

Hi, Well that reply from LEGO was about as much use a chocolate fire guard Almost seem to be saying either "we know but we are not telling you", or even perhaps "we dont know, but were not going to tell you we dont know" I would find it very difficult to believe that these types of promotions are not planned well in advance [probably at least 12 months or more], and that they do know. I would have thought these types of promotions would be communicated at the toy fairs when they are looking at taking the big orders of the buyers and would be using these types of promotions as leaders to increase order values. Do any of the mods know if this a secret that TLG are not going to let us know about? Regards Alex.

Hi, Been lurking {as I believe it's called} for sometime and joined forum a few days ago. I live in UK in the West Midlands near to a town called Cannock. I have a 9 year old son Zak who is heavily into LEGO and Star Wars {been bringing him up right and proper eh!} also a daughter (6) who's into some of the LEGO spin off's such as Belleville and loves Clikits as well as building small vehicles and for some reason abstract items that are geometric in nature such a Pyramids. I am a big Star Wars fan [also most sci fi and keen on Star Trek all generations / versions, Stargate, Stargate Atlantis, all Gerry Anderson stuff etc etc.] and have had my interest in LEGO rekindled by my son. Found the forum whilst searching for info on new sets for 2009 as Zak was desperate to see what he could spend Xmas money on when it appreared on S@H. Zak's also into Castle & City theme's and likes the Batman stuff but never been able to get hold of any. Not got a massive collection of LEGO SW, but it seems to be growing. Currently got about 20 main sets and a few battle packs. Anyway, Greetings & Salutations to all AFOL on the forum. Regards Alex.
