Hey there, stumbled over this thread a few moments ago and am still amazed by all those great contributions. Although it has been quite a while since it has been a hot topic I am wondering if it is still possible to receive a copy of the reverse-engineered pirate bay stud.io file? Perhaps one of the creators is still reading here and can make it accessible for me? :) It would make a great addition to my barracuda bay if I can manage to get a hand on all the necessary parts.

Yay!! I think I did it !! It took me around 2 hours of switching, turning and adjusting the blue hinges, but finally they are aligned in a proper way. Took almost 20 jumper (converter?) plates... oO The image shows one side of the frame after the alignment of the hinges on a dummy plate. The angle has widened by placing the hinge on the left four studs to the left. Tomorrow I should have taken some images of the fully reassembled model with parallel aligned wings and without overlap. Bob: Your creation looks incredibly awesome! So many inspiring techniques. I will need quite a time to dig into your thread... And maybe I can adopt some of them.

Yes, from that perspective the wave in the plates looks horrible. oO Next time when I dismantle the hull, I will try to stabilize the wings with some bricks from front to back. The hull is just so long. I am afraid bending is not enough.... @Bob De Quatre: Unfortunately I don't see how technic axles could solve my problem. But I am very interested in the way how you fixed the angular part of the frame to the straight mainframe. Is it the same angle like in 10221?

Ah, I should have mentioned that I changed the angle of sloping of the wings, when I broadened them. The intention was to reduce the slope of the wings, because in my opinion it is way to steep. Hopefully the image shows what I mean... I think the overlap has something to do with the angle of sloping and that it could be solved by changing the angle of the frame just a little bit. It seems to me, that the wings are not aligned exactly parallel and that is causing the problem. Did you make similar observations? I hope this is not to confusing...

Hello everybody, for quite a while I have been following all moddings and own creations of super star destroyers around this forum. As this is my all time favourite of all Star Wars capital ships for allmost 20 years I could not resist buying Lego's 10221 and use it for a nice conversion foundation stone. I have read the threads of Anio, Georc and Mortesv and pulled out all information possible. My conversion focusses on the following aspects: Enwiden the super structure Redo of the flat bottom Side view Stern view I know there is much more modding potential but these were the most obvious concern I had. Additional things to change would affect the engine sections: Tilt the engines proper to the angled lower hull. Lengthen the sternmost engine section. Close any open gaps of the lower hull. I am quite happy with the results so far, but in one aspect I need your help. My experience in advanced brickbuilding is practically not existing, so I am quite at loss with my problem. The images show what I mean: The „wings“ overlap at the front and brace in the rear. As it appears to me this is due to a to narrow angle of the mainframe. Once I tried to widen the angle by one stud in the front by replacing the foremost hinge part. This would be enough to solve the problem. But then all of the hinge parts between the first and the last hinges don't fit on any studs anymore. What would you suggest? Rebuild the to total sideframe and place all hinges on new positions? Or use another technique insteadt of hinges to place the frame in the desired angle? I am very looking forward to suggestions... If you wish I will also add additional detail shots of the new bottom.
