That's layman not "lame man". A layman is someone who is not a specialist in a profession and hence an expert whereas a lame man is person with a disability which impedes mobility. ;)
  2. This would seem to belong here.
  3. There's no reason Lego might not be postponing a release until later this year. After all, the Tantive IV isn't going to be released for some time still. Do I think there will be an eighth Indy set released this year? I don't know nor do I care to speculate. My initial post was merely to point out that the source of the "eighth set" rumour goes back to the reference to such in that link and my second post to confirm the information of my first. The early nature of the refence to an eight set demonstrated many inaccuracies compared to what would be (for example, no TIE Bomber) and thus seven sets may be all that Lego decided upon. Perhaps they initially were going to release eight but were displeased with one set and decided against it. Then again, they may simply have planned to release an eighth set later. Is it probable? Yes. Is it certain? No. That's the most that can be said.
  4. No, this is the post from Jedi News from which mention of 8 sets originated. As the five other sets debuted long before August, the possibility of a sixth set in August remained, and remains, a possibility. Lego does surprise us from time to time (like with the Death Star last year and the Republic Dropship this year).
  5. Or you could just use the one in the Green Goblin Origins set, #4851
  6. Considering that she probably signed a contract regarding licensed merchandise (lest we wouldn't have seen one mini-figure to say nothing of all the action figures out there), that wouldn't hold up. It's also not a theory, it's a hypothesis.
  7. The lack of Padme figures has been one of the great crimes of the Lego Star Wars line. We've got more than one worthless nobody like the two alien Jedi (yes, I know their names but as they're not mentioned by name in the films, it's rather irrelevant what they are called) but a major character like Padme is relegated to two copies of the same figure from the first year's release. That's just sad. Some suggestions 1. Geonosis Padme in the Geonosis Battle: Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Padme, a couple of clones and some droids. Not too pricey unless they threw in Dooku and his speeder and escort ships. 2. Queen Amidala (and flesh Padme as Handmaiden) in Queen Amidala's Starship: From Episode I, the big chrome ship would feature two versions of her (or if you prefer, Padme and her double). Lego's late-year pricey Star Wars exclusive set would be the perfect choice for such a selection. Take a standard (Tantive-IV, Republic Cruiser, etc) $150 set and crank the price up to $250 by giving it a chrome exterior and including those two figs plus Obi-Wan, Anakin, Qui-Gonn, R2, Jar-Jar and the captain. 3. Padme with her ship from Episode III: Include an Obi-Wan and Anakin for a recreation of the scene from the end of Revenge of the Sith. Again, chrome could drive the price up but considering that they've done that with non-chrome sets, what's the difference nowadays? 4. An alternative to #1 would be Anakin and Padme and her ship from Episode II, from Naboo to Geonosis.
  8. An early listing of sets from another website (rebelscum or jedinews or something like that) said that Lego would release a total of 8 Indy sets this year.
  9. He probably means barrier. A barrister is a British word meaning a kind of lawyer.
  10. Now available from US Shop-at-Home Feel free to delete the locked thread.
  11. This is pretty much the case for any Lego regardless of theme. After a few years out of production, the prices go up. It's simple supply and demand.
  12. They put Anakin's Jedi Starfighter and the AT-TP under "Star Wars Classic" and even use the latter as the cover pic for the group so the Falcon showing up under "The Clone Wars" means nothing.
  13. There was the Vikings line as well as the <insert that tiresome argument> Knights Kingdom line in 2002 and then the really horrible Technicolor Knights Kingdom later. It doesn't have to try hard to be different from Star Wars. There's a lot of science fiction possibilities beyond the realm of Star Wars which is more fantasy than SF. It's not clear at all. Personally, I see Star Wars as having very little potential left compared to Indy. They've made most of the significant vehicles in the Star Wars trilogies and most of the playset types as well even if they haven't always done them well. Star Wars is really finished so far as I'm concerned since I don't watch the kiddie cartoons (beyond seeing The Clone Wars in the theatre, a price of admission I'd like to get back). Sure, they can continue to produce sets based on the TV outings but ugly sets like that pirate tank aren't iconic. I give it two more years though if Lego wanted to they could renew that license as well (provided Lucasfilm released more speculation as to an Indy V) or by doing remakes of the existing sets. After all, it only took 4-5 years for Lego to begin redesigning existing sets (X-Wing in Dagobah, new snowspeeder). The Prince of Persia is unknown compared to Indiana Jones. In 2004, the American Film Institute named Indiana Jones the #2 film hero of all time (well ahead of Han Solo and Obi-Wan Kenobi, the only two SW characters to make the top 50). Prince of Persia? Just some video game and we've seen how well game-inspired films have done (Super Mario Brothers, anyone?). I expect two years of sets totalling between 6-8 each year probably. The Temple of Doom has barely been touched by Lego and Last Crusade isn't much better. And quite frankly, compared to the IJ line, SW has been pretty poor lately. The original trilogy sets are nice but in a case of film quality influencing sets, the poorer quality prequels and the horrible Clone Wars are producing overpriced (Count Dooku's ship is a great example), uninteresting (anything from the Clone Wars nonsense) sets. Another 14-16 IJ sets and they can happily end the line instead of dragging it out to a slow death like SW. An action figure line was released for Temple of Doom but it was quite small (less than a half dozen figures and no playsets). Soundtracks for the original three films were available (I know because I have them). VHS was never rare except when the DVD collection was released (by which time VHS in general was rare).
  14. That's because until recently Lego packaged the head and body of a mini-figure assembled together and therefore considered them to be one piece.
  15. You omitted noting the best feature of this set, one which made it worth purchasing. This was the only set of the original Adventurers (Desert) line to feature a windshield without the dust and bullet hole printing and one of the few wide release sets to do so (it was released primarily in bucket sets and again the next year in the Air Zeppelin and others but never again in such an inexpensive widely-released set). It was also the smallest general-release set to contain the Anubis map, second smallest behind the Kabaya mummy one.
  16. Frying pan, not stove.
  17. Back in 1983, the explanation given in an interview with the B-Wing's designer said that it was called so because the ship resembled a blade. While is not something stated in the film (or probably the novelization, it's been a long time since I read it) it was the answer given during pre-production for the film when the name was conceived.
  18. I always assumed 3-4 years with 5-8 sets per year. Possible Raiders sets: Brawl in Nepal, set in Marion's and featuring Indy, Marion, Toht, and a Nepalese henchman or two. Map Room, with Indy and Sallah and "a miniature of the city laid out on the floor". They'd probably just use a red gem for the Headpiece to the Staff of Ra though. Opening of the Ark, with Indy, Marion, Belloq, Dietrich, Toht, a pair of German soldiers, and a ghost from the ark (white cloaked and hooded skeleton with a double-printed head). Possible Temple sets: Air Freight Escape, featuring Indy, Willie and Short Round to go with the plane and life raft. Journey to Pankhot, featuring Indy, Willie and Short Round along with their elephants. Unlikely we'd get a guide. Battle at the Bridge, featuring three heroes as well as Mola Ram and a pair of Thuggees. Might use the base that was created for the Adventurers Jungle theme. Possible Last Crusade sets: Circus Train, with a young Indy and a couple of the henchmen of Panama Hat. I think it's probably asking too much to hope for both a lion and a rhino but who knows. Catacombs, with Indy, Elsa, and three or four rats plus the knight's tomb. Might even get a new mold for the sarcophagus top. Castle Fire, with Indy and Henry and the revolving fireplace. Tank Chase, with Indy, Henry, Marcus, Vogel and a Hatayan driver (though they'd probably just give us a German). Indy might be mounted and its entirely possible Henry and Marcus wouldn't be included. A real bonus would be Sallah on horseback. Temple of the Grail, designed much like the temple set from Raiders it would feature the three challenges. Possible figures would be Indy, the Knight, Donovan, Elsa, Sallah, Brody, and Henry (though the last three might be expecting too much). Possible Crystal Skull sets: Government Warehouse, with Indy, Mac, Spalko, and a Russian soldier. Truck and a jeep possibly to recreate the scene. Campus Chase, with Indy and Mutt on the motorcycle chased by the Soviets' car. Indy, Mutt, and 2 KGB. Possible mini-figures we have yet to see: Indy, in his Arab garb Indy, disguised as a German Indy, new Crusade torso with his leather jacket and tie ensemble seen in the film Marion, in her bar outfit Marion, in the dress she got from Katanga Belloq, in his white suit Belloq, in his white suit sans the jacket Belloq, in his ceremonial garb Marcus Brody, in Venice suit Marcus Brody, in desert suit Dietrich Toht Sallah, from Raiders Sallah, from Crusade Major Blumbertt Chattar Lal Maharajah Fedora Panama Hat Elsa, desert expedition outfit Grail Knight Vogel Donovan, desert expedition outfit Harold Oxley Mac So, still plenty of potential left in the line.
