Pirate Advent Calendar SPOILER FREE Discussion
Squidrobot replied to David Thomsen's topic in LEGO Pirates
I'd call it a colorful parrotfeeder rather than an anachronistic cup. And as to the previous table, i think its alright, even though i still have my doubt about using the INdy-map in pirate sets. Thers no ocean on it, just desert! -
Just finished building this set and i can just conclude that I really dont think that any fan of star wars lego who actually bought and built this set would complain about anything. Its a varied and fun build, it got som play-fautures but nothing to gimmicky, and first and foremost, it looks frikin awsome and is even somewhat swooshable. Theres extensive greebling (for a official set) and no stickers what so ever. The only cons for my part, is that i also got the chocolate-fondant hair and that the price is a bit steep (Mind you i live in sweden and payed TWICE the US-price. TWICE!!!1 So dont come moaning about overpricing, mkay?)

I would be nice if people would read the thread before posting A "true" viking helmet would, as been has repeatedly said, have no horns at all. Another note on the topic: The "horns" on the few cermonial helmets that has been found is according to some only a form of attatchment for feathers, plumes or even flowers.

I didn't get a 2x2 cylindrical brick for the catapult, but a small, silver ball instead. Different in different countries maybe?

What the heck does a pirate need a map over Israel for, srsly?

Which is mightier - Black Seas Barracuda OR Brickbeard's Bounty?

BSB is more detailed and doesn't have the ugly skull-sails so for me it wins the design-contest. And as far as battles are concerned, doesnt the BSB have TWICE as many cannons as the bb? -
Exoforce-hair cabbage is always a win!

For me it was the troll warriors hands down, it's basically what got me back inte castle, from havening collocted only classic SW-sets. How long haven't people been craving orcs, just look att all the legions of Dobbys and armies of grinogott-elfs out there!

Castle Advent Calendar - traditionalists

Another thing to love about Lego (the company this time). I sent for a replacement bow for little over a week ago, and got it today, free of charge. That's service. -

Wasn't that big a deal for me, i got bows-a-plenty, but i can just imagine how some poor kid would react... The effect of a missing pice is somewhat more of a big deal when each "set" only contains a few pices to begin with. However I ordered the part from Legos customer service, just because i have the right to do so. -

Oh poor you! can't really make that much with those pieces! How come theres so much mistakes in these calendars? My theory is that the way lego does controls is that the weigh the pieces, and because the calender consists of so many small accesories, it's hard to tell by weighing wether there is an extra (or missing, or both) piece or two. -

I only think it weakens them if you push them all the way in, so to speak. I just attatched them quite loosely, makes for a flimisier construction, but doesent seem to stress the pieces that much. This is actually my first "new" skeleton, i got a bunch of the old ones, but their arms arn't really good for anything else than flopping around in a quite pathetic manner. now i seem to need moar, so i can make skelletons with extra long legs and arms... will propbably look a bit like "Lillebror" in Riget (the danish and original version of kingdom hospital) well, now i see i wan't that careful with one of the arms, the way i meant is the way i used on the mace-arm. -
Nicely done! If you want a reason to buy yet another new castle-set, I think the death-knight character would look even better with one of the new, more mean skelleton-heads, black or white.

Which Castle Sets Do you want for 2009?
Squidrobot replied to The Rancor's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
A troll-battlepack would be extremely neat, as it is now it's a bit pricy to build your troll-army. perhaps something like the 7667 Imperial Dropship, but with trolls. -

Opened door number four just moments ago (yes, it's the fourth in sweden now) and found an extra set of arms, which made for a nice Gibbon-typ skeleton! -
"limited edition"? (troll batlle wheel)
Squidrobot replied to Squidrobot's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Well, i din't by it at TRU nor a lego store, but in a BR-toyshop in sweden. So that's not it either... -
What's the deal whith the "limitied edition"-banner on the box for the Troll battle wheel? Does it really mean anything, or is it just a sales-pitch?
