  1. As a guy who is sort of a big lurker, I would like to make myself useful around here by doing reviews. I plan to review these sets: The Rebel Scout Speeder, Star Justice, Space Skulls, Racer X and Taejo, Homing Spider Droid, and the CW AT-TE. All of them are open and built, except for the Space Skulls, just in case there's any rules against it. I'm in middle school currently, but I can usually get my homework done in a timely manner and I am eager to learn. This program looks like a great experience that I would be overjoyed to take part in.
  2. I have been absolutely stoked for the City Advent Calendar! In fact I was actually looking forward to a Monday, and what a Monday! Turkey man is a brilliant way to kick off the holiday season. I might even go as far to say that he's this year's breakout character. Seriously, who could care less about blasters, lime green drill tanks, espionage, Sith lords, and my personal favorites: Clones, when you've got a guy with a drumstick. Turkey man, we salute your clever use of leftovers as weaponry and brown Levis! I rate today a 10/10 (and I'm serious, too).
  3. You're not alone, Oky Wan. For the last few hours today, I couldn't access the website at all. No big problem, however; but it does happen every few days at my comp.
  4. It's a no-brainer! Like others have stated, doors are almost a necessity for a car of any size. Lack of doors is the only real problem I have with current LEGO City. However, I can live with my minifigs getting around Duke style or popping off the roof (Not reccomended in 1:1 scale). Little details like doors and good cockpits do make the difference between a 7 or 8/10 and a 9 or 10/10. Basically I can settle with either, but doors are recommended. Never forget, though, that a well-made car without doors will always trump a poorly slapped-together jalopy with them.
  5. In a couple of weeks, I'm going to LEGOland during their 20% off sale for members. My family's willing to pay about $50-60. I've looked through my catalogues and I've found a good selection of sets that could make good candidates. I am most into Star Wars, but I plan to pick out one Indy set to see if the series is worth taking up a bit of Star Wars money. I know my grandma will pay $48 for a $60 value and if I'm lucky, I might talk her into $56 for a $70 value, although I can settle with $60 worth. The sets I have in mind are: 7620 Motor Chace $10 7622 Race for the Stolen Treasure $30 7658 Y-Wing $40 7655 Old Clone BP $10 7667 Imp. Dropship $10 7657 AT-ST $20 7656 General Grevious's Starfighter $20 7671 AT-AP $40 7625 River Chace $20 7660 Ani's Starfighter $20 Which combination of sets from this list would you guys recommend? I am open-minded if you have any other set suggestions for similar Star Wars or Indy sets. In case they have pirates or new Star Wars, what would your recommend from early 09. Peace!
  6. As the title suggests, I'm a Star Wars junkie from Orange County. I started collecting in 2005, but sadly I was too reckless of a kid and it's all mixed up with all the other bricks. Last Christmas I resolved to keep all new sets in order and not break them apart. Nowadays, I'm hoping to find good deals on the best sets from 05-06 like the January 06 bunch. I also enjoy City and am intregued by the rumoured new space line. Once I get a part time job, I plan to buy some vintage space and town along with older Star Wars. I first came to this site looking for leaked pictures of 09 Star Wars sets and now would like to join the crew. This forum is by far the most interesting LEGO community out there. P.S. Yesterday my dad ordered Star Justice and the Space Skulls for $35 each. It's the best deal I've ever seen in my 3 years of collecting. I'd recommend to get one of them if you don't have one, or get both, assuming the sale wasn't just a one day event.
