  1. Now, about story. (first 1-82 pages, no or minor spoilers) It is sort of Indiana Jones cliche, but in the great way. Jungle, mystery, strange artifact, action... I'm particularly amazed by dialogues and characterization od Jack and Harvey. Other characters are much weaker, but still fine. The story has some great moments. Jack is great when need to think of some complicated plan fast and unexpectedly. And, basically, we follow the adventure trough Harveys exes, making Jack even more interesting. I think the story would be mush easier to read and follow if it is broken in episodes, like usual LEGO comics, but... let's be realistic here - this is no usual LEGO comic. This stuff is special. I just hope we we'll get deeper in the secret of unnamed island, and hope to see more of Jack's cool plans. About graphic... Oh my... Oh my... just look at it and you'll understand my emotions.
  2. Same emotions here. I was surprised how well digital renders works. At the moment it almost felt like classic real plastic models are so inadequate. Your skill is great. Fantastic work on backgrounds, models, well... everything. Great camera positions, wonderful sceneries, engaging story... I didn't read the whole story yet, I'm trying to enjoy it slowly :) , so I'll put some comments on story later. Anyway - Jack Storm could be the milestone of new era of LEGO comics. EDIT: Could not reach you trough private messages (new members lock, I pressume). Please, contact me at zelimir.peris@ gmail.com - I got some ideas of how promote this comic. Thanks!
  3. Same here. Letter was so nice an polite, that is hard to tell what does it acctally mean, except that gift from Denmark is coming ;)
  4. Very nice and greatly built MOC, although tram is way to much dependent on Sekiyama's design, not sure if that could affect rules of contest. Also, tram station is somewhat strange thing to be found in Winter Village (which is theme of contest) isn't it? Maybe if it was Winter City...
  5. Great contest, fantastic works! Captain Flint Amusement Park 1 kost u grlu Train Station 3 Skalldyr Music Shop 1
  6. Thank you all for your interest. At this point, I'm not interested in selling less that 10 sets at once, beacuse I'm trying to sell all of it at once, or at least half, or quarter of it, maybe to some club interested in classic city MOC, or to some interested reseller. If this trade doesn't commit (lets say, in a week), than I'll just go on BL with them, so you could buy roads at will (but with regular BL prices). IBAN (International Bank Account Number) is simple and not to expencive way of transfering money to Croatia. I never had problems with WU, but nevertheless, IBAN should be totaly safe. Now, for the price - please contact me at zelimir.peris@gmail.com I'm talking about around 20-25% discount compared to minimal BL price and posibility of free shipping for buyer who takes everything, or similar discount scaled proportional to amount of sets. But... please, details and negotiations on e-mail. As for "plates are much cheaper on BL" theory, I'm sorry, but it's not true. BL links with prices: sets: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?S=6310-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?S=6311-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?S=6312-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?S=6313-1 parts: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?P=2359p01&colorID=9 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?P=2360p01&colorID=9 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?P=2361p01&colorID=9 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?P=80547pb01&colorID=9 Maybe you are refering to used roads, but you need to know that MISB (mint in a sealed box) is not only about wrappings, but a guarantee that every road is completely new, without mechanical or UV damage, that used roads regulary have. Remember, those sets are from 1986, storaged in perfect condition, hence the big price on BL. So... jump on this 20-25% discout train, and bring some joy and happyness to your LEGO town.
  7. It's not issue of trust. Paypal acounts open in Croatia don't have possibility of receiving money. It's a state legislation issue, so Paypal is not an option. Anyway, I am willing to take in consideration WU fee and all the shipping costs, and give discount, so potential buyer doesn't have additional costs because of my egzotic whereabouts. So, to shorten the story, whoever buys the whole package will get free shipping (Europe & USA) and free WU fees, and still get a very nice price, considerable lower that BL minimal. If you buy only half, I'll cover half of the shipping and WU fees. Just send your offer at e-mail mentioned above. Thanks.
  8. I cannot set PM to you, Matt. Please email me to: zelimir.peris(a)gmail.com I did not defined price, but I imagine it as going from minimal BL price downwards, depeding on amount of sets you want. IBAN or Wester Union are ways to transfer money. All sets are MISB in a box, so photo of them is not very interesting. I'll show you few I gave to my son for his future LEGO city. City is still in development, so be gentle with critics. Also, his father is more into Castle...
  9. I do not have defined price. Please use PM or gmail me at zelimir.peris to make an offer. If I can persuade you to buy at least few T-roads and/or cross-roads with straight and curves, I would be willing to pay for the shipping. Anyway, the shipping cost to UK for 2,5 kg (5,5 pounds) is around 20$.
  10. Please note that I didn't defined any price. I can see prices on BrickLink, and those are big, so, I'm willing to go for some fair and cheeper alternative, of course. Please send me an offer by PM for everything or at least the bigger part of it. And other thing is that I'm in Croatia, so postage and money-sending will considerably affect costs. (No pay-pall.) Thanks!
  11. I have huge amount of old grey roads, all MISB packed and sealed, in exellent condition. 6310 T-Road Plates 19 sets (38 roads) 6311 Curved Road Plates 6 sets (12 roads) 6312 Straight Road Plates 14 sets (28 roads) 6313 Cross-Road Plates 22 sets (44 roads) I'm willing to sell it all together, for really great price. Maybe to some club for wonderful old-school diorama, or for some kind of re-sell. Anyway, if there is any interest, please let me know, I'm offering a really fine price. Also, if the lot is too big, I can break it in several smaller, but my wish is not to sold all this piece by piece. Thanks!
  12. 3-colored gray wall is fantastic, and the winter scenery is a touch of geniusity. Everything else is impeccable. Unbelievable important LEGO MOC. Milestone for any future architecture MOCs. Everyone who want to build some landmark, must use this as a guide.
  13. But making it part of a wall was one of the hardest part of the built. It just doesn't fit right anywhere except their own door frame, and if you are trying to put it on to double-side wall, as I did... oh... not an easy task.
  14. This part: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=30102px2 Thank you all for your comments!
  15. Semperamid Abbey is imaginary abbey of Red Hiits, an imaginary order inspired by Christian medieval history. I'm building it for the exibit my club is organizing in Zagreb, Croatia. It's only a half of planned build. This is the plan: And is what it looks like in minifig scale: Other 50 photos you can browse here: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/190013 Thanks for your comments!!
  16. Thank you all for your comments, this is very encouraging for me. Yes, I guess it's nice hut, but what I really tried to do is to investigate the possibilities of in-MOC light, and learn how to make photos of it. Surelly, I will continue to work with it, mostly because it's very easy to use (very cheap also), and gives great atmosphere to creation.
  17. I bought some LED diodas, and I'm on a way for a new light solutions in my works. Here is the vignette: This is the technology behind it:
  18. Wow, excellent real-size port!!! Your scaling is fantastic, and everything looks great. Yes, few more details should be great, because of big area the MOC, some pars looks a little empty and repetitive, but surely it is the great size to match the ships. You know, few fishermen on the pier, or some ivy on the lighthouse, or something like that. I will keep my eye on this great MOC.
  19. Unfortunately, wing had t o be customized. There are no white wing or white snakes in LEGO offer. This is the wign: 48284 Hippogriff 'Buckbeak' Wing Customisation was done with spray-color.
  20. I'm happy for being obducted by Pirate theme I love pirates , but the building hardly ever saw pirates because it's 2000 miles and hundreds of years away from golden pirate Caribbean era. Also the time span I'm trying to reproduce with these series of MOC's varies from 16th century to modern times. Nut never mind, I will put a pirate or two to future Coastal gates MOC's, I enjoy in this theme
  21. I've just finished the model of Coastal Gates, Zadar, Croatia. They still need to be included in the MOC, showing them in historical ambient. frontal view: sideview: sideview with a fool: st. Marco's lion: heraldics: birdview: Coastal Gates generations: Real life photo:
  22. Ok, relaxed. :) I just thought it would be fair toward TLG, or maybe he doesn't know it. But if he wants to be LEGO designer, and once decide to send them those photos, they would be much happier if they don't see breaking of their rules. True, good point. But there are definetelly large differences between Clasic Castle desing and Fantasy era design. This is very similar, actually maybe too similar to Fantasy era. Ok, maybe I ask for too much, but with all the imaginations and story he developed, and the effort he made I hoped to see more originality. But, ok, I don't say it's no good. It's really great. It is in the spirit of modern LEGO design, and that was his goal.
  23. Oh, this is very nice and elaborate. Color scheme is very nice, and it looks great on minifigs (which are excellent, by the way), but in the sets it is not very dominant. Few sand greenm and the rest is usual gray stuff. About sets, well, they are very nice, but I can't help myself think that they are not that much different from official Castle sets from Fantasy Era. There are some really nice details, especially minifigs, but in general, in my opinion, it is to similar to modern Castle sets. Small and big siege engines, castle walls, and other. Nevertheless, these are great builds, but I just think they are not good enough to be watched as new LEGO theme. Portal logo is fantastic, but I must say, you are not permitted to use LEGO logo in your creations, so it really should be removed. You can read about this on LEGO web site: http://www.lego.com/eng/info/default.asp?page=fairplay
  24. Yes, you are right about the color scheme, of course, red on red is not the besi solution, altrought I was trying to make a red house, that is deliberately very red, to point out the purpose of the house itself. But, I also must say that those classical references where wooden pieces must be brown, and stone pieces gray - are beginning to be quite a cliche. I mean, if it's normal to paint your walls into light blue or tan, why is it not ok to paint wooden parts of building into some color? Wood do needs to be painted, to get preserved better, in the real world it's totally common process. So, those round parts really could be timber framing, but painted into red and black. Ok, I'm trying to defend my style here, but I do agree it's not the best stlye ;) So I don't really have some strong arguments. Mostly because, I also like it to be brown. But I'm merely trying to give another point of view. Thanks for your comments.
