  1. I'll check it out, thanks!
  2. I need to update to El Capitan to get this update, and reading all the bad reviews has made me a little hesitant to do it. What I'm really looking for is the Ant-Man helmet. I've checked the photos of the parts in this thread, and I don't see it, but maybe I'm missing it. Is the Ant-Man helmet in the latest update?
  3. Well, I mind!! Once again these a-holes are just stealing my art. And one of my older, crappier works, so they're welcome to it. You know, I do this for fun (and yes, a small, very small profit), and I put a lot of time into this, but these guys just steal whatever they can. And meanwhile, people who do what I do are the ones who suffer because while we try to provide fans with characters that Lego will most likely never do, and these idiots come along, knock it off and sell it for a 1/4 of the price. And I get it, most people can't afford to buy the actual customs from us, but without us, there would be no customs, and then there would be nothing for those bootleggers to steal from. And the thing is, I wouldn't mind so much if they just asked to use my art, and compensate me for it. I'm very happy that people like what I do, and I have no problem with people downloading my images and using them for avatars or desktops or whatever. But when you just blatantly steal my stuff it really pisses me off.
  4. Thanks! You are correct, I did use LDview to export to .3ds format. Then I just imported the file into Maya. Of course there is some cleaning up to do, and sometimes parts get renamed, but most of it comes through quite nicely. And yes, I did hear that the Lego designers use Maya. I'd love to get my hand on those files ;)
  5. Hi all, First time poster saying hello! Recently I finally figured out after months of searching how to get LDR amd LXF models into Maya. Up til now, I've just been doing renderings of superhero minifigs (you can check them out here:http://www.flickr.com/photos/mnap73/). But now, thanks to this forum, I can actually put some actual Lego models into my scenes. I've been trying to contact the members whose models I've downloaded, to get their ok, but you need to get 10 posts first to be able to message someone. SO here is post number one, with Lego Superman playing around with the 10133 Burlington North Santa Fe Locomotive model by Andy C. Basically I'm trying to make sure I give credit where credit is due, and hope no one is angry for me just using it without permission. So thanks Andy C, and hope you like what I've done. Here's another I've done. This time I took the little flying ship from the 8635 Mobile Command Center by Aanchir. A little change of color, add a Cobra logo, and you've got Cobra gunships. Again, thanks to Aanchir for posting the model. One more. This time I took the Captain America cycle and using Bricksmith, built a sidecar and added in the gatling gun (it's actually the what I used to model the Brickarms minigun). And now you have the GI Joe Rapid Fire Motorcycle!
