I like that slizer's name is a callback to the slizer series from Technic.
-
I'm with you! This way, the surprises will actually surprise us.
-
It's all about muscles and spikes, isn't it?
---Vertea--- replied to Antrozek's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Good god damn, Antrozek! Give the rest of us a chance at epic! I absolutely love it! Though... Stronius' mask is a tad creepier... but then it wouldn't work as a face that way, so I see why you changed it... EITHER WAY... I adore it. Keep up the awesome! -
I really like that aspect-it pulls up the old memories of REAL elemental conditions and that everything isn't happy-go-lucky. I like that this year the story is happening all over, instead of six heroes versus six villains in one elemental extreme with one object of desire. This year brings exploration and discovery as well as mystery back into the Bionicle equation. Also, new beings without powers. Though I do like elemental attacks, I thought the Toa were just a little too powerful. On Bara Magna, the elements are a force to be reckoned with, and the stakes are far more realistic. 2009 rocks. BTW-if I were to make a new signature, what Glatorian Legend(s) should I feature?

http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=25369 Here was my attempt at the Catskull construct. I made it after Bfahome introduced me.

Bionicle, Sonic, Digimon, mario, dilbert.... You just earned a cookie! Srsly, tho- I enjoy your stuff. It makes me smile.
-
SWEET! And did you get a chance to see what Kiina's mask looks like finalized? Please tell me it's improved from the Toyfair version... Oh, and many thanks, sir, for sharing this with us all. It'll certainly help get us started on deciding which sets to grab.
-
Which of the two would you recommend? Mata Nui or Stronius? And is Stronius' club two pieces?

I see one of the Space police aliens in the bottom corner... Anyway, would youse be so kind as to link us to the topic?
-
Woah! you are correct sir! that there looks like a mouth!
-
That is really epic! Antroz was just made even cooler. I wonder if that's the test animation that Greg told us about...
-
Why thank you, Pigbrick! Now, does the mouth look stupid, or a little bit awesome?
-

-
yummy distractions... Oh, and I hear there is gonna be some SWEET action sequences in the May-June Magazine.
-
Woooo! Thanks youse!!!!! That's gonna be the all-purpose boring pic now.
-
no-boring is putting a mouth on everything that has a head. mouthlessness=weird=awesome. and eyes... need diversity. Anime does not fit everything. But remember-this is my opinion only. I'm not about to go on judging anything you or anyone else does, kay?
-
I'm pretty sure you're right, otherwise the cobra machine would have taken #1's soul right then and there-also, it explains why he has the big guy tied up and stored in his body. And the catskull construct is DEFINITELY in the film. Also, there's supposed to be this really big thing that they have to face at the end. I was lucky enough to speak with one of the pre-production guys that worked with the concept art, so I know a little bit.
-
Uh-oh... here come teh booobehs! Honestly, I think I prefer bionicle art if the eyes are kept true to sets and no mouths unless it's actually a part of the set. Those things just bug me... The rest can be as stylized as ever, just no mouths or anime eyes...
-
Many thanks! Yeah... Not the finest thing to come out of BZP, but I'm gettin' there. I think it's pretty okay for a first. The gun-hands were my favourite part since I finally had a use for the Robo-Rider chassis. And the head is DEFINITELY gonna appear again. It's just too freaky! Glad you like it! Oh, and I personally HATE the feet. I'm really terrible at feet, legs and waists. Any tips?

This guy took me a good several weeks. I think I did good for my first big model. The feet are a little lame, yes, but they do work with the look. For those of you wondering: Those gray things on his head are his eyes. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/MuakaS8N...3_entry_pic.jpg His right arm(with dark blue pipe) is his primary phase cannon. It is his most powerful weapon, but requires a minute charge for every five shots. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/MuakaS8N...53/p1020168.jpg His left arm has several heat-seeking missiles, a laser artillery cannon, and a moving turret-like drill blaster. The canisters on his arms serve as an exhaust for his guns, as they create quite a bit of waste heat. If needed, the exhaust canisters can store the energy and release it in a heated blast. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/MuakaS8N...53/p1020156.jpg His back holds an engine salvaged from an old Mining vehicle and equipped with twin radar nodes capable of small bursts of EMP. Later, the machine would go on to create a reactor sun to be contained on his back canister. It now serves as an everlasting power source and a weapon capable of mass destruction(though only in dire need). Nodes Eternal Sun Engine His personality is... odd. He likes the silence of the deep underground cavern that is his home, but enjoys the sound of others talking, though he rarely speaks himself. Despite his firepower, he prefers to think first and shoot as a last resort. When he DOES fight, it is usually quite the brawl-a spectacle to behold and kudos to any bystander that's still standing when it's over. His intelligence is not what he would like it to be, but it is still a tad above average. He hopes to someday have his chance to fulfill his purpose, but until then, he ditifully guards the underground from all who dare plunder. Gallry(when Public) Enjoy, and pleeeease comment!

So I found out through another member here about a short film called 9 by a guy named Shane Acker. It's pretty darn cool-about a little ragdoll/robot trying to survive in a post apocalypse world. He encounters this really nasty creature with a cat skull for a head that can steal souls and it just gets cooler from there: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rp3T0qjY04Y THEN I find out that Tim Burton is going to work with Mr. Acker to make a movie!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIpZxBczWUg THEN, just yesterday, they release a two-minute clip that just blew my mind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISfDDKSgyk4...feature=related As you can see, this movie is gonna rock.

1) Yes 2) Probably white or gray 3) Yes 4) They are pretty intelligent 5) Tjey do not have ranks 6) We'll see 7) Never saw them 8) Yes 9) Skopio, set-wise 10) Character or set wise? 5) What about communication? Culture? Or are they only intelligent as far as destruction is concerned? 8) Do you like it? 9) How about as far as character goes? 10) I mean set-wise, but both answers would be cool, too smile.gif Thanks! 5) They do have communication, they have no need for a culture, anymore than the Bohrok need one or your average armored tank needs one. 8) Mostly, yes 9) Don't know yet 10) That's by and large the same as question #9. I have not written about any of the vehicles yet, so I don't have a character preference among them
