  1. The new teaser trailer just came out today. Go have a look. Pirates of the Caribbean - On Stranger Tides - Teaser I hope the new LEGO sets are as detailed as they are in the movie/trailer.
  2. I think it would be excellent for Disney/Lego to make Tron sets, especially since a new cartoon series is in the works, as well as another sequel. I seriously doubt that Tron would be any more violent than Prince of Persia or Pirates of the Caribbean. This is of course a Disney family movie. There will be a high demand for Tron toys/merchandise come December 2010, so it would be wise for Lego to be apart of that!
  3. Thank you for the review Copmike! I look forward to collecting these minifigs, however, it is a legitimate concern regarding the possibility that these new minifigs will lack in quality (and I'm not talking about the neck printing). I just compared the latest SW magnet set, just released a couple of weeks ago, to the same figures from the building set, and there is still a noticeable difference in texture, color, and print. It normally wouldn't matter to me that these new minifigs are made in China, but only if they retained the quality and consistency that we have come to expect from Lego. Unfortunately they do not. It doesn't matter that they only cost $2, they should still maintain the quality that is present in their mainstream products. Yes, I'll still collect these sets, but I would hate to see the quality of our Lego to continue to slip. I still have confidence that Lego will try to improve upon this problem, as they have done in the past, but it doesn't hurt to let them know that we notice these differences. Shadow - Calling or implying that people are morons for voicing their concerns is just uncalled for! Especially since this is a "REVIEW" of a new minifig...
  4. Monster Crab Clash - $6.49 (68 pcs) Guardian of the Deep - $14.99 (144 pcs) Typhoon Turbo Sub - $24.99 (197 pcs) I'm not sure how much TRU has marked them up, but I'm guessing Lego stores will be selling them for a few dollars cheaper. I haven't had a chance to open all of them, but the sets look great, at least from the box. I'm hoping that many people will find them at their local TRU stores over the weekend.
  5. Oh, and here's my proof for any of the skeptics out there.
  6. Hey guys/gals, I just bought 3 of the new Atlantis sets at TRU in the Dallas, TX area. They're already featured on the store shelves, so it didn't look like it was an accident that they were already out (although I might be wrong). So keep an eye out at your local TRU and I can't wait to get home to build the new sets. They only had these three: 8056 8058 8060
  7. Signed. I'll take one as well. Thank you!
  8. I was thinking about providing a list of the PAB selection that is currently available at the Stonebriar store for our online community. It wouldn't be hard for me to keep that list up-to-date in the future since I live so close to that location. I'll take some pictures and post them here over the weekend.
  9. Stonebriar Centre in Frisco TX opened today for those of you in North Texas. However, the official opening will be on Saturday morning.
  10. They appear to be one-time in-store only models:
  11. Finally! I've been waiting for this moment ever since I moved to Dallas over 4 years ago. I'm pretty excited about the new store opening in Frisco TX (which is only 10 minutes away from where I live), but I'm also pretty surprised that Lego is also opening another store at Northpark which is just another 20 or so miles away. So, basically we're getting 2 new stores for the Dallas area. Sorry guys! I know it's rough for those of you who have nothing even remotely close to them. I feel your pain! I'll try to cover all of the opening events in case anyone here is interested. Here are the latest pictures of the new store at Stonebriar Centre. Happy trails...
  12. Count me in as well.
  13. I like to/used to think of it as: My Own Design But that's just me... MOC is probably better. My Own Creation
  14. There seems to be no love for Texas. I just went to TRU in Frisco and I just happened to run into a LEGO Representatve and I asked her about the Pirate sets. She told me that they are for the 2009 line and to look for them next year. I told her that many of the TRU stores were already selling them, as well as their online site. She seemed surprised, and told me that she hasn't even seen them yet herself. She had some sort of schedule with her and proceeded to look up more info on the Pirates line. All she could see was that they are scheduled to arrive sometime in December.
  15. No Pirates at TRU in either Frisco or Allen, Texas.
  16. Well, MEGABLOCKS is currently producing toys for Disney/Pixar's Cars, along with a line of Mickey Mouse (and friends) building sets. LEGO used to produce a couple of sets for Disney a while ago. My guess is that Disney's licensing fees are astronomical.
  17. I'm all for having a store out here in Dallas, especially since this town has been booming over the last couple of years. I'm actually surprised that Lego hasn't (yet) opened a store out here. I think it'll happen sooner or later, as long as they don't over saturate the market. (Think Disney Store and its demise.)
