  1. Mostly I've used the 1x1 round bricks in black and white for the lights. I've also used some 1x1 bricks with clip for the lights on the bakery, ice lake and post office. I planned to use these also for the colored christmas tree lights and the roof-lights on the cottage.. I didn't have time to do them all so maybe next year In the sets are a total of ~40 yellow LED's, 4 red and 4 green. I've also tried 2 white LED's but the cold white light isn't bringing the warm feeling so I'd advise not to use those. The total amount of LED's used in building is about twice as much, a lot of them broke when trying to put them in a brick or just disappeared on my table (they're really small!) - that was the frustrating part You can find the LED's on dealextreme for about $2 for 50 pcs: http://dx.com/p/0603-yellow-smd-led-emitter-silicone-strip-122493
  2. Hi all! A few years ago I started buying some old 'boys-dream' lego (like the 8880 supercar) and that started my lego hunger again Since then I've bought some nice technic sets and some specials (volkswagen T1 and winter sets), those got my wife also fan of lego Normally I just buy/build the sets, the creativity for the do-it-yourself builds somewhat dissapeared.. I see a lot of epic builds here though! I thought it would be nice to show my winter village with lights, check it out here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=77308 Frederik
  3. I've used 1mm wire and 0603 SMD leds (1,6x0,8mm). It took a lot longer than expected the idea was easy, the reality hard (and frustrating at times) Some methods of implementing the LEDs: Different light positions meant different solutions, some easier then others. I've kept the drilling and glueing to a minimum of parts (mostly extra parts bought for this purpose) the sets can be brought back in original state without much effort I'll make an introduction post!
  4. I've been busy adding smd LED's in the Lego Winter sets. I think the result looks quite nice so I decided to share it. The links contain larger versions.
