:D Each to their own, yes, which i why i just had to counter argument. Apparently TLC found that normal castle was boring. From testing, probably sales too. Their marketing strategies seem to be pretty good at the moment too, they alway seem to be on the mark. Possibly because they are simply remaking what worked well before ;) ? I must say I like the old castle sets too, I even had a couple when I was a kid. But I think it looks so outdated when compared to the latest castle sets.

I am an AFOL, and I absolutely love the fantasy era castle lego sets, every last one of them. It is perfect. Each to their own I suppose, but I would rather you avoid saying that they are ugly. they aren't, they are really good. Anyway, If you like classic castle so much, you can just buy all the old sets and MOC your own, if you don't like the fantasy era, then don't touch it. There are some articles around on the web which explain how and why (well, in part at least) TLC made the current castle sets as they are. To cut it short it's because "normal castle" is considered boring. Trolls and the Undead "roxxor"
