  1. Spotting Ronin, Merei raises a hand in greeting, but having herself previously been skulking around the outskirts of the bar she doesn't feel it would be fair to summon the mysterious stranger over. To each their own pace.
  2. This is superb! Love the details in cornices - and I also really like the color scheme! It would definitely work well for a jigsaw, but also just looks really cool - the way that the houses are relatively uniform but still have character from the small differences such as color, lawn decoration, and even just residents, is really really fun!
  3. "I can assure you, my intelligence is the same as anyone's, and my fashion sense as well. But! I am not immune to flattery." Merei follows Yissam♥ to the bar and tips her hat to Bers, Thorvald, and Kreri. "It is a pleasure to meet you all. I am Merei Teo. And you?" She turns to Yissam♥. "I am curious what it is that brings you to this Hall. Were you born here on this station? Can you tell me anything more about it?"
  4. Merei clicks off the holo-cube, and slides it carefully into her pocket. On her note taking cube she clicks a few final buttons. Thoughtfully. No rush. She puts that away too. "I don't want to be rude but would like to be honest. I am not a fan. I have not seen it until today, and even now, I don't believe I am the intended audience. It is well done, and I'm sure it has value to many people. Yourself included. And if it were only you it brought joy to, that would be enough." Merei stands. "I will gladly come join you at the bar. I am Merei Teo, though you did not ask. You will have to introduce me to your friends. I haven't heard any of them mention a media presence from which to study them, and so I will have to make due with in-person observation." Heat plays across Yissam♥'s face as a bright laugh emanates from Merei.
  5. Can I ask (having played milestone D&D for a while... sorry...) is there any way to increase character points beyond combat? If a combat is avoided, say, by cunning stealth, hacking, piloting, persuasion, etc. can the MM still provide character points? Maybe I'm just a lame pacifist (who still loves the strategy and mechanics of battle, of course!) but there are times I'd like to avoid it.
  6. Finding herself all alone on the first floor of the Hall, Merei picks up her two metallic cubes and switches both off, ascending the stairs to the second floor and bar. Seeing a gathering at the bar itself she doesn't approach, but sits at a table nearby, and turns back on the one cube, for holo-projection of programming, and the other, for note-taking. Upon hearing Bers and Kreri refer to Yissam♥ by name she toggles a few buttons on the projecting cube, and soon Yissam♥ hears a familiar voice projecting from it: her own.
  7. Great to be back! We'll see how active I can be - will probably be a little more on and off after summer, but want to get back into it! Great, we can continue to rally each other ad nauseam and never hit anything!
  8. The great void at the center of the Celestial's face slips past their holo-program and latches onto Yissam♥ for a moment. "Hello," comes a calm, warm voice, before the void, possibly the "eye" of the celestial, returns to the holo-program.
  9. Quietly, without any fanfare what-so-ever, Merei Teo walks into Heroica Hall. She emits a steady light, her head a flaming sphere that broils gently, seemingly out from a void center that might, might, serve as an eye. She is well dressed and carries herself with confidence, everything about her fastidious, put together, careful. She walks confidently over to the Quest Board and keys in a sign-up for Quest #4. She then goes to sit at a table, and, putting a small polished cube down on it, hits a button on the side. A projection flares to life, and she begins to watch it, pausing occasionally to jot down (aka type out) a note on another, similar cube nearby.
  10. Yeah, I understand the risk of not having one, and see proficiency isn't required. I guess it'd be a REAL pickle if I was the last person standing, but I really like the rally/defend options, and feel like it'll be more profitable for a character not proficient in combat to assist those who will hit hard - they're cool mechanics, and I want to play with them, and not having a weapon will certainly encourage that. Maybe I'll be proven totally wrong, but I just feel between three spells, rally, and defend, it'd have to be dire straights to whip out a weapon.
  11. Character up! Still doing some shopping, though, for my initial stuff. Question: if we do not want to carry a weapon, could we trade that out for something else... Or should I take it and then sell it? Another question, very very sorry: under equipment it reads: "Equipment falls into 3 categories: weapons, armor, and tools. Only one type of equipment may be equipped at a time by a character." Is that meant to read "one of EACH type"? Because only one type would mean I can only equip weapons if I have a weapon on... but I could equip as much weapons as I want. I assume it's meant to mean one of each.

  13. Holy cra-noly, thank you @Waterbrick Down and @Duvors, those are all so flippin' awesome. I'm tempted to go with the suave looking Quorm, but I think I'll go with Duvors' build - that is a rad looking character. If they kick the bucket eventually I'm going back to that Quorm, though! I think I'm going to warp it to a Helioi Celestial, however. Gotta think of which race they were born to, and then I'll post up something!!
  14. Gotcha, gotcha, okay I'm following now. Not trying to be a stickler, just want to make sure I understand the system. So is that stat block I posted up thread correct? I spent no points of Velocity, but have 2 in skill and so it bumps? Is it +1 Vitality/Velocity on multiples of 2 (2, 4, 6, 8) or on multiples of 2 +base:1 (3,5,7,9)?
  15. But there's not really a reason to do that re: velocity / vitality. If it costs 2 points to increase strength by one (which inherently increases vitality by one), and 2 points to increase vitality by one, why wouldn't someone always select the strength+vitality option? And thank you for the Holo-Scroll answer. Good item to know about!
  16. Finally, WBD, since you're playing another heavy spell caster I was checking out your character. It looks like you have four spells prepped, but only 3 spirit? Is this a mistake? Or does your "Nature 2" somehow come into play here?
  17. Okay, that's what I figured. I'm pretty ready with a character once I decide on a race (if anyone wants to pick one for me... I will be asking someone else to build the mini so maybe it'd be fun to see the mini first and build out the character from there...)! I wanted to go support spell caster, but it seems like there is a good way to play support (offense) by boosting smarts, or support (defense) by pumping skills. That's interesting. Would the check be lower if they roughed up the enemy a bit first? This is the original load out I'm imagining. Is there no way to buy Vitality/Velocity directly? They are linked exclusively to Strength/Skill? Character Points: 0/10Vitality: 5/5Velocity: 2Strength: 1Skill: 2Smarts: 2Spirit: 3Proficiencies: Occult 1, Religion 1, Persuasion 1, Insight 1Known Spells: Healing Light, Mystic Binding, Gravity SinkCredits: 10Equipment: ??? I like the Thudaal, Valtar, Celestials, and Quarm. I know I'm putting a lot on other people, but I feel like it'd be interesting to try to let others help build a character somewhat, and then explore them? It's something I've never done before in an RPG. So, any of those races feel interesting or underrepresented or challenging to me or would be an interesting fit with the proficiencies I threw out (I feel like in this system, proficiencies are the initial base of a character).
  18. The defend and rally appear to the do the same thing, albeit with different stat pools. Is that correct? Rally makes sense to me, but defend seems like it should be defensive instead of boosting offense?
  19. Absolutely love the various little plant holders. So very cool.
  20. Yes, it looks interesting and pretty different! I'm super into support classes and battlefield control, so I'm thinking something with religion/occult (Healing Light, Mystic Binding, Purging Font, Quantum Transport, Restful Sleep) and maybe focus on the health/armor/spirit stats? I'm still trying to wrap my head around how the point buy works. And proficiencies seem to level up with both the base stats, and also we can buy them directly? Is that right? I'm also seeing a mention of "at rank 1" is there something that explains what that means that I'm missing? This is what is confusing to me? Is survival something that is acquired thanks to having 2 smarts, OR do you gain any one proficiency (your choice) by virtue of having two smarts?
  21. Looks very cool, gang. I'm a big RPG guy now (just passed by 3 years of weekly D&D) so it's nice to see that my roots are coming back into play! I live in an itsy bitsy apartment now, instead of my parents house which had a big ol' room for LEGO, and I have, you know, a job and what-not (funny how life changes between high school and your masters) BUT that being said, I'm hoping I can at the very least play a bit as a player, and see some of the old gang inhabiting new characters. Maybe host a quest. Maybe. The rules look cool and dynamic and a little complex, so gonna have to give them a good read. Let me know if anyone wouldn't mind throwing together a character portrait for me, since my LEGOs are all boxed up in an attic somewhere!
  22. Just popping my head in here! See Legonator messaged me over a year ago for details about what would have been my final quest, which I was just too busy to host! Will hopefully post a good write up of that one day (though I'll post what I sent him too). Anyway, finally a D&D player myself (going on 3 years) and it's massively enjoyable, though I have this and Eurobricks Mafia to thank for my early foray into role playing! Miss telling stories with a large crew of people (and LEGO!). Basically just hope all my old world-wide friends are well, and still adventuring in one way or another. My phone to this day for whatever reason tries to auto-complete "boo" (which I usually intend to be "book") to Boomingham, which maybe is what keeps everything fresh in my mind!

    MOC: Riad

Love it! The name of the game in this MOC seems to be both texture and pattern, and both are delivered perfectly. Love the floor, love the recessed walls and the alternating dark and light blue! All great stuff!
  24. I count that as years haha. I can’t even remember it! Apparently you hosted that one too so thanks for having me twice in a row hahahaha.
  25. Wow. I think we played a pretty decent game but also had amazing strokes of luck. Kscary, we knew who you were, but killing the vig and especially the doctor early on were totally random. The vig can be a swingy role, doctor was really lucky to have out of the way especially as certain PRs became public. Oh and of course: thanks for the great game, Kotz. I haven’t played in a long time (years!), and it felt great even if I’m busier now. I used to play really aggressively but I’ve learned to try to hold back a little bit more (at least as scum). Don’t know how I’d play town now. I’m a totally different person now, so it was fun to rediscover how to play!
