Ahh...I see what they did. They made the mandibles longer. The damn canopy is still too far forward. Interior is very sparce but very modible. Great review!

OMG. My son is going to lose his mind when he sees the rock dragon. Hell, I'm lovin' it myself! Actually, this line has been WAY better than I ever thought it would be. I also really want that dragon sword...

Just got this set. I like the dragon a lot. Wings are quite clever. My only complaint is that the head is so difficult to customize. Lego could have added a few more connection options to the head...

Great review! I have this set and it is indeed wonderful. I will probably be demolishing the burrow and making it into an addition for my medieval village set. The figs are awesome though I do wish Ron had been included. My only complaint: I was a bit annoyed at the amount of stickerage...

I really like quite a few of these sets. I'll probably get the Temple and the Anglerfish sets.

Awesome! I love the way you did the signs.

Very nice, love the gate and fence. :)

Thank you everyone for the kind comments! I had a blast making this and it's awesome to see others like it! :) Thank you for noticing the details and the "macho hero" thing. Betty Bley is related to the color controversy but I'm afraid I don't know who Betty Blue is...@Cutty - Yes, I'm a graphic designer. I love designing retro stuff - album covers, movie posters, but I don't get to do it at my "real" job. @Mookage - Yeah, I built the whole retro space theme around the robot. He's my favorite series 1 fig. Thanks again everyone! :)

Hi! Here's a poster I made inspired by the new LEGO Robot. It's done in the style of classic sci-fi movie posters of yesteryear. Here's the flickr link:

Cool! Someone digs my KORL model :D Link's hat is actually a Ninja headpiece chopped and sanded down. I had planned on making alot of other Wind Waker related stuff but I never got round to it. If it would help, I could take some pics of it partially assembled. Anyway, glad you like it. :)

GHOST TOWN emerges from the darkness !!!
Flail replied to Brick Miner's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Wow! I am truly impressed. This is, hands down THE best attempt I've seen at recreating the style of a LEGO system set. In fact, its so good for a minute I thought it might be real. Damn you! You got me excited! :-P Anyway, you nailed everything a real LEGO set would contain. The style, playability features, color choices, box graphics and minifigs - everything is spot on. I would so buy that Ghost town set. Both are great but the ghost town is brilliant! I own almost all of the western sets and these would fit perfectly among them. Oh, and I WANT that ghost miner fig. This may be my favorite fig since Hotep the mummy - no kidding. Really, great, great job. DAMN, I WISH THIS WAS RETAIL!!!! -
Sorry, but I have to disagree with almost everone. I think this is a very good line. Much much better than I could have ever dreamed given the promo pics I saw. Just goes to show you how evil promo pics are. The two new lines: Vikings and Dino's were miles and miles apart when I saw the early promo pics. Vikings ruled and Dino's sucked, big time. But now that I've seen the final pics, these lines are much closer than I would have ever imagined possible. The dino line is vastly improved while the Viking line, while still great, does not excite me nearly as mush as it did in the promo pics. God, I wish they had left the longboat the was it was in the early pics - that was a PERFECT set! Anyway, I think the dino line is quite good. I like the dino's and the hummer and 'copter are excellent. I will probably have to get a few of these sets, something I never thought I'd say.

Ah, yes...a wonderful little set. I am the proud owner of seven such sets! *satis* Although, I have to say, in my misguided youth, I...uh....painted a few of these figs. *sobs* Ah well, I still have about thirty or so left.
