  1. count one vote for the pirates over the vikings! i have absolutely no interest in the new vikings stuff. just not my thing i guess. this is a pretty nice looking ship, i think that it's really a love child of the BSB and CC, it has features of both, but resembles neither completely. i do think however, that he needs to add a sail to the mizzen, the ship looks like it could use another piece of canvas right there. oh, and thanks for posting this Hobbes, i greatly enjoy looking at other's ships, just often choose only to lurk. i do not often post unless i feel i have something to actually add, thus i dont post much. best, steve
  2. thanks for the welcome xwingyoda! thanks for the suggestion as well, but i work exclusively in tall ships, mostly men of war from 1750 or so to 1820. thought about doing a Bomb vessel, but have to figure out how to do the guns themselves. i have also thought about going bigger, but to do that, i would have to widen the hulls with inverse slopes, which would involve buying a large number of pieces, which i should not do right now. currently, my largest ships are 4 center sections long. i have made a 5 center section ship, but it seems too narrow. best, steve
  3. thanks for the kind words everyone! unfortunately, this is all i have to show for now, though it is a large number of ships. i have hit a sort of wall in terms of creativity, and cant come up with a new design for a ship i want to built. kind of like Lego builder's block if you know what i mean. with my last ship, HMS Minotaur, i felt that i achieved almost exactly the look of a ship that i set out to achieve in the beginning. i cant figure out how to improve on my design, given the constraints i put on myself. i really want to build more, but cant figure out what. ideas? maybe i can get inspired ;) best, steve
  4. hello! i was guided here by a review of one of my ships on MOCpages.com by Mister Phes, if i remember correctly. the thread is here: http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...=11&t=1149&st=0 sorry, i am horrible at HTML, so i just post straight links well, i have a few more ships i have built, and have posted about on Lugnet. i lurk there, and post every once in a while, so you may have seen these before. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery....y.cgi?m=ratmfan anyway, i also have an MOCpages page for all of these where you can read a bit more about them, but i cant post the link because i cannot get to their page due to heavy traffic. i work almost exclusively in the pirates theme, and strive for historical accuracy in my ships. i became interested in building ships by finding Richie Dulin's Port Brique and Richard Parsons' Port Block. anyway, just decided to join the community and share my creations! oh, i was pretty sure that this was the proper place to post this, but please move it wherever is necessary if it is not. ;) thanks! stephen rowe i also have other links to other's creations if you are interested.
