  1. Terrific review, gorgeous pics! This is the first set I bought after my Dark Ages ended and I'm so glad I picked this one. An incredible variety of colours and pieces and great builds (I like the holiday home build the best). A perfect set for someone like me, who hasn't gotten any Lego since the Castles stuff from the early 90s! I love that all the builds have a different car/vehicle design. I'm also weirdly picky about the colour of the plate that forms the floor of Lego houses. I notice that a lot of them (Apple Tree House included) are built on a green plate and so the interior of the house has a green floor too! I love that Hillside House doesn't have that issue.
  2. I love the look of this set and the minifigs are to die for, but like a lot of people I'm balking at the price-to-piece ratio. Boushh Leia is my favourite too -- So to prevent myself from coveting this set too much I forked over $12 for a Boushh Leia last weekend at Brickfete in Toronto. I know it's apples and oranges (older set, non-licensed) but my 10193 Medieval Market Village came in today and at $135 CAD for 1602 pieces, the price of Jabba's Palace is quite hard to swallow! I find myself wishing that if enough people don't buy Jabba's Palace TLC will rein in their prices but who am I kidding? This thing will sell like hotcakes! I'm not that bothered by the over-sized heads and the height of the guard minifig. If that was the only way they could get the incredible amount of detail I'm fine with it. Lego minifigs aren't exactly perfect human proportions anyway.
  3. When I ordered mine the sales associate said this was one of their most popular sets and that it's been in production longer than is usual. So I'm kind of expecting it to be discontinued at any moment .
  4. I ordered this set a few days ago, thanks in large part to this awesome review and how highly everyone in this thread is rating it! It's out of stock at the moment but should ship (from TLC) near the end of the month. I'm just glad I managed to get my order in before this gorgeous set gets discontinued (whenever that happens!). I love the way these buildings open and close and the range of fun parts is really something else. Not to mention, I got it for $135 CAD which I think is a total steal! Also getting that sweet mini Sopwith Camel with my order . When I was a kid the Castles theme was my #1 love. I'm so glad I could grab this set.
