  1. Hmm, so I was pretty set on making the Town Hall my second modular set. I bought the Grand Emporium last spring, and then a few months later bought the Haunted House (unrelated to this thread, as obviously I can't connect that one to any without major customization). Anyway, just as I began to think to myself that now was the time to splurge for the Town Hall, I see the Palace Cinema. As a movie buff, there's no way I can let this pass. Unfortunately, it's a corner building - so, the reason I made this thread is to ask if you can connect two corner modular sets. Thanks.
  2. Any ideas on how to attach this to a baseplate?
  3. I had been anticipating this set for months and bought it the day it came out (even though it was a poor financial decision). I still haven't finished building it as I like to take my time, but so far it's a beautiful (I feel funny using this word to describe a 'haunted house,' ha) set and I'm not disappointed in the least. Probably going to purchase a baseplate for it and put a little cemetery next to the house.
  4. Picked this up from my Target earlier today. Put the clock in the 10228.
  5. So excited for this. I'm a recent AFOL and don't know much about set releases and anticipation; do you think I'll have a problem picking this up at the LEGO store the day of? If I'm looking so forward to this I have to assume that there are many others out there looking to snatch this set ASAP as well. Never mind--I just called the LEGO store and they said they received enough so that it shouldn't be a problem for me to pick it up on Saturday.
  6. I had a dream last night that Toys R Us had this out early and I bought it but was sorely disappointed because it was made of really flimsy plastic and didn't even have many actual LEGO bricks, ha.
  7. I really wish there were a way to preorder this. I want it the day it comes out!
  8. Pennsylvania. Sorry! Got the cheerleader (but lost her head in the car. Will try to find it later but for now I think I'm going to use the Zombie Bride's head), actor, banker, fairy and pirate.
  9. My TRU has them out for sale! Currently in line holding five of them, ha. Hopefully no duplicates.
  10. Wait so these are already available at some places in the U.S. or no?
  11. The Zombies might be the better value but I find myself staring at the Crazy Scientist & His Monster much, much more. I love the way it looks next to the castle.

  13. Nice review. I picked this up the other night after overcoming my own reluctance but I'm glad I did.
  14. My Target has The Zombies (or at least they did a couple of days ago). I just don't think it looks that impressive aside from the car and minifigures, but maybe seeing it in person would change my mind (which is usually the case with sets I'm initially skeptical of). Maybe I'll go ahead and buy it tonight..I can always hang onto it for a few days and return it if i decide I'd rather have the hearse. Right now I have the Vampyre Castle and The Crazy Scientist & HIs Monster. The latter set seems to be vastly overlooked--it looks absolutely fantastic next to the castle. Surprised I haven't seen many people talking about it. Whichever one I decide to pick up tonight will be my last LEGO set until the haunted house. I really love this line.
  15. Can't decide between the Vampire Hearse and The Zombies.
  16. http://i46.tinypic.com/ek1d6o.jpg Love this set.
  17. Thank you for the response. I think I'll probably end up ordering the Pet Shop because even though I'd much prefer to get the Town Hall, I'd rather not shell out even more money, ha. I do love the exterior of both the townhouse and the store, though, so I doubt I'll be let down. I just got nervous after reading some of the comments in here.
  18. Yes, this is what I meant.
  19. Can anyone tell me how this looks next to the Grand Emporium? I'm leaning toward the pet store just because I think it might be what looks better next to the GE...
  20. Some of the comments have me worried to get this one. I love the looks of it but I don't want to feel like I wasted $150. Almost finished constructing the Grand Emporium, which is my first modular, and I don't want to be let down by whatever I go with next.
  21. Pictures REALLY don't do this thing justice. Finished the second floor last night and can't stop staring at the building and thinking of things to add to the interior (so far I've only added a shop dog, ha). I've been trying to stretch construction out for as long as possible because I don't want to stop building; I know once I'm finished I'll be even more tempted to order the Pet Store modular.
  22. This might not look great next to my Grand Emporium but I don't care--I'm getting this before I get my second modular. It's just too awesome.
  23. This is fantastic! I'm just now getting into LEGO (my Grand Emporium arrives tomorrow) but eventually I hope to have enough pieces saved up so I can do something like this. I love your first floor especially--I wish I could make a clothes rack! The only customization I'll really be able to do at this point is incorporate my CMFs into the set.
  24. I would but I really don't have the money to do so. I shouldn't have even ordered the Grand Emporium but I couldn't help myself! My next modular will probably be the Pet Shop though, even if the Fire Brigade is still available. I just love that apartment.
  25. It's still up for sale in their online store and I ordered one from Target.com yesterday afternoon, if that means anything.
