  1. If you aren't familiar, LBP stands for Little Big Planet. A Playstation exclusive game franchise that lets you do just about anything to create your own game levels. I took the opportunity to make as faithful a rendition of LEGO bricks as the standard game physics allow. Then I used those bricks to build a level. The pictures below are screen shots taken in that level. The only bricks I got wrong in this level were the arch bricks, but I have since redesigned them to be more accurate. If you have Little Big Planet and would like to play this, my PSN is DreadRandal and you can do a text search for the name of this thread. I have more LEGO themed levels in development, but they will be LBP2 only. This one can be played in 1 or 2.
  2. I figured I'd post this here to avoid crossing the "new topic Gestapo", but can someone explain to me why this licensed theme with which the only historical context is that people used to build castles, protect them with knights and once believed in wizards and magical creatures? I was just wondering, seeing as the site moderators can be quite touchy about little details like that. =)
  3. I was already reeling from the news that not only was LEGO expanding their Batman license to include the rest of the Justice League, but using their partnership with Disney to now carry Marvel's Avengers... and then I see commercials for LEGO LOTR... I hope they make a LEGO Magneto so I can stand him up next to my LEGO Gandalf. What are your thoughts on LEGO stepping up on the licensing? My feelings are mixed but leaning toward the positive, as the more popular LEGO is, the longer they stick around for us to enjoy. (I was watching a show the other day and they said Star Wars sets were all about self preservation, as they were losing money hand over fist in the 90's)
  4. It's stuff like this that makes me wish LDD was a player design tool in a sandbox style LEGO based "design, create and interact" game, where ldd designers could cooperatively or competitively do more with their builds than just show screen shots or fileshare. =) This is really cool.
  5. E-mail sent. =) That "extra free time at work" came in spades. I'm a professional driver and my tractor overheated. So I'm sitting on the side of the road, flashers blinking, tringles out, hood (bonnet) up, wishing it was overcast and about 10 degrees (f) cooler. (heck, I'd be even happier if it was 10 degrees cooler centigrade.)
  6. No, I chose the "pick my own brain tring every password and valid e-mail address I could remember" method, when that failed,, I created this account expressly to pm calabar, and then it told me after said account was created that I couldn't access user profiles to pm anybody. So out of frustration, I posted the topic I initially came here to post as 'Randal' under this name, figuring you guys would eventually come to my rescue. (and here you are... Yay!) If work slows down again, I'll try again at that time, otherwise it will have to wait until I get home. Look for my current e-mail address, which is the one used to create this temp account. I'm pretty sure it's very simmilar to the one I thought I used to make my main account. (The only difference being the order of word placement)
  7. Hi guys. It's been a while. (I'm sorry for creating a second account, I only did it after failing misserably for quite some time to access the old one... Which I would actually prefer to do if any admin are reading this...) Anyway, back on topic. If you don't know already, Little Big Planet is an amazing creation tool for people into console gaming. Like LEGO, it's as fun for adults as it is for kids. Having been disappointed by the available LEGO themed levels created by LBP community members, I decided to make my own, starting with the fundamentals. Designing bricks as faithfully as the game allows, all interconnectable, all uniform so that everythingnot only looks good, but functionally fit together. The way the design features work, making bricks 100% faithful is currently impossible within the creation parameters, but once I post some screen shots, I think you will find my results satisfactory. Ironically, the most realistic looking brics, the ones on their sides, can't interlock. Their purpose is to look like realistic unplaced bricks. If you have both a PSN account and a copy of LBP, I invite you to either post your PSN name here, or send a friend request to DreadRandal. I'm looking to make my bricks as faithful as possible and make them available to other AFOL who also play LBP. =)
