Nako Nuva

I don't think we have to worry about just launchers in the canisters YET. First we'll suffer through the Bley Goon Squad, then we might have to watch them transform into launchers. We have a bit more suffering to go through before the launcher-canister demons win out. I tell you one thing, though, I'ma keep my kids away from launchers. I'll raise 'em up to fear those shooty horrors and prefer only the good ol' melee weapons. Get em into the focus groups as sleeper agents, bwahahaha!

Something funny I should add: When I first saw the Mistika, they were on a french site, and the tag line read something like "Les Mistika arrivent! Et ca va MAL!!!" So, it isn't just us that think the Mistika look bad. I wonder what pieces would work best in terms of replacing the garish muscly forearms on Gali? Maybe some blue parts from Hahli or Takadox? Lord knows the trans blue would have been better than SILVER. Also, anyone notice that none of these Toa has a chest plate for some bizarre reason? I just can't shake the feeling we're being gipped here. I mean, 13 for what exactly? No chests, no tools, hideous faces and more silly launchers? Let me just get this out of my system. DO WE NEED 2 DAGGUM LAUNCHER TYPES A FRAGGIN' YEAR!?? I mean, when they came out, Kanoka made it the whole year, and rhotuka made it the whole year after that. Even zamor launchers made it a full year, a year and a half if you count midak, which I don't, because there was that huge plastic thing. Don't get me wrong, the midak are fun, but the squid launchers and cordak blasters were the epic failure (and undoubtedly lowest point of the otherwise excellent Mahri), but these ghost blaster things? No. Just cut it the snot out, Lego! Give us one launcher and makes us deal with it for the year, okay? Then SIPHON THE DAGGUM SAVINGS INTO RESPECTABLE TOOLS, CUZ THIS CRAP IS JUST WRONG. Okay, glad I got that out of my system. You can all unplug your ears now. [/rant]. Oh, poor Toa Nuva, if only we had listened to those who said they'd ruin you if you came back. Truly, Lego hates you.

I love that exchange, I really do. There's rockets in mah legs . . . That made me happy. Seriously, is anyone else irked that Kopaka doesn't get a new form? What the snot is all that about? I don't want another Antroz, especially not a bastardized one like that. Winter Antroz is just fine, but new Antroz is the suck. Kopaka would have looked a million times more awesome on a vehicle. And am I the only one who thinks that Gali looks like a Piraka with that mask? I swear they just took the Vezon head part and filled in an eye and the teeth. Hideous, absolutely hideous. I can't help but think that Lego really hates the Toa Nuva, and are determined to make them horrible so we never ask for them again. Well it isn't gonna work, you hear me! I waited too long for this, you horrible jerks! UGH, and the price is going up? That's just WRONG. I remember when a set cost me 7 bucks, man. Take a good long look at the 30 dollar price for Takanuva, because someday, that's how much Matoran sets are going to cost you.

Well, seeing these versions of the sets, I am so totally overhauling Gali. I'll be ditching the launcher until I find some redeeming way to attach it. The mask? That'll be going bye-bye, cuz it looks like the factory had a huge friggin' melt-down and they just decided to use the screw ups anyway. Honestly, is Lego hell-bent on making the girl Toa the ugliest?I'd rather her old Nuva Mask over that, but I'm probably just gonna forgo even that and attach her old mask. And honestly, I'm disappointed by the lack of tools. I feel sorry that Greg's going to have to explain that. Maybe there's some tiny little flat silver piece that Lego thinks will count as a weapon. I mean, honestly, they didn't give a Fire Toa a sword? That's only happened, what, with Vakama and Norik? And to do it to Tahu, of all people . . . I still like the Makuta, but I'd disappointed by the fact that we aren't getting new masks with them. And am I the only one who thinks Onua's new mask looks like another Mask of Shadows? And is that a fin on top of Tahu's mask? At least Takanuva doesn't look absolutely bastardized. And why do the riders on the vehicles look kinda like Pohatu and Lewa?

Well, I finally felt guilty about ghosting this topic for the last week or two and joined the forum. Wow! clear pictures of the Mistika at last, and I thought it'd never happen! I have to say, I dislike the lack of resemblance and good weapons on the Toa Nuva, but this can be remedied, so I'm not going to avoid buying them. The tools appear to be the same level of face-slapping we got with Kopaka's bayonet. The colors on the Toa Nuva are a little worrisome, though. I'm hoping all that is silver and not grey, but knowing my luck, I'm in for more grey pieces. On the other hand, the new Makuta look rather colorful, and I'm especially looking forward to the new white one. I hope we get actual shots of the sets at Toy Fair, though.
