Pretty boring. Golden Armor? At last, the series' need to include every little element of the action figures reaches ludicrous, story-destroying moments. Wasted characters are one thing, wasted story is another.

The Unofficial BIONICLE Story Critique Topic
Can Calyx replied to iLego94's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Dear lord, don't you people have better things to be critiquing? Particularly those who have graduated college (and don't hesitate to mention as often as possible). Seriously. I may sound like a troll, but this isn't going to end, and no one is going to learn anything constructive. Greg's a writer. He writes semi-violent fantasy stories, like so many have before him. Which is perfect for his job. He's done a wonderful job staying in touch with what much of the fan community wants, on his own watch. -
I recently purchased Rockoh for $12, but still have yet to find Jetrax for less than $40 (it's been a six month search, now...) However, seeing Thornatus in those clips has made me seriously consider paying full price, just to play with it.
-
I've decided that the only set I'll buy full price this year is Titan Mata Nui. Any news as to price or release window?
-
The mata red was another reason I purchased Ackar. Honestly, I like *all* the Legends, and still hope to buy Stronius and, perhaps, Mata Nui someday. It's just the price is steep. Being in college really hurts the Lego cash.
-
I purchased Ackar today, after intense internal debate between him and Stronius. I plan to purchase only one Legends this summer (and, hopefully, Jetrax when it's marked down to $20 in a month or so), so it was a big deal. The orange won me over. But $14 for essentially the same set I purchased six of in 2006 was highly depressing.
-
The best part about 2009 is that the 2008 sets I never purchased are all discounted. $30 Axalara, $10 Ignika. I can't wait for some cheap Mistika, or perhaps a cheap Jetrax ($20 Jetrax sale is bunk, at least at the four Wal Marts near me).
-
Wait, is there news of takanuva on clearance? Damnit...here are the prices I want to buy at: Taka ($15) Rockoh ($15) Meh for Jetrax, and any Mistika. I can't wait to see Vorox for less.
-
"And the supposed $10 Rockoh." My disinterest in Rockoh would be squelched if he was really $10. That's less than a Glatorian! Shoot, I may buy Jetrax and Rockoh this weekend.
-
I finally purchased Axalara for $30 (the most I was willing to pay for it), and plan to wait out Skopio's insane price. One question: is Jetrax worth $20? I have no interest in Rockoh, but Jetrax is almost as appealing as Axalara, and I seem to have a limited time frame onwhich to get the sale price.

So long as this Mata Nui is gold. If he's Gold, with a gold ignika, I will be so damn happy.
-
I wonder if Big Mata Nui is the bearer of the Gold Ignika we've seen in various pictures. If so, I know which Mata Nui I'm buying.
-
I'll buy Ackar, as I have every Red set aside from the red Visorak, and Mata Nui, because I've always wanted Yellow legs/arms. That's it, though. The White, Green, and Blue leaked pics were more impressive to me. If I have to get a third, it would be the black one. Now, I really like all the vehicles, but I still can't justify what will probably be their price. I'm still hoping to find Axalara for $30 someday...
-
I could see myself purchasing Vastus, Ackar, and Mata Nui. Perhaps Gelu, as well. Man...this is the first time in three years that summer sets have actually been *better* than the winter sets...
-
Second part? I don't see a second up yet...
-
These sets put the winter Glatorian to shame. Looks like I'll be saving my money until the summer, instead of finishing my current Glatorian. Hopefully I will find some really cheap T-vehicles at the Lego Store in March. Of course, I doubt I'll ever locate a $30 Axalara
-
Skipio looks great, but if it's priced as outrageously as Axalara, I'll unfortunately have to pass. The only vehicle I could afford from 2008 was the $17 on-sale Mazeka set.
-
Does anyone know if the Mazeka $17 sale is still on at Wal Mart? I just realized that spending my alotted $13, with an extra $4 of my own, could ring me a much more interest set than Vorox, Strakk, or Skrall...
-
It's too bad 2010 won't have novels. I can't recall if there is a 2010 film planned or not- anyone know for sure?
-
Having bought Bionicle sets since their first release, I guess the good/bad distinction's just become ingrained.
-
I think I'll grab Vorox. Tan, new armor, and the skull-like Mask really get me excited. Seeing as I already own Gresh, Tarix, and Malum, I need another villain set to balance things out. However, Strakk has new weapons, along with neat armor. Skrall will have to wait. New weapons, but the build is ugly.
-
I have money for Strakk, Skrall, or Vorox. Which should I blow $13 on?
-
Right in the post above yours.

You can probably fold in Skopio's legs to make it a tank-like vehicle. I've decided to save for Skopio, Cendox and Kaxium. They're so much better than the 2008 vehicles. I can't wait. I may be buying a majority of the sets this year, which hasn't happened since 2006. Skopio, Cendox, Kaxium, Mata Nui, Ackar, Gelu, Vorox, Skrall. That's so much money...

Eh. The serial was okay. The best thing about serials in the past was that they let us look into characters we hadn't seen in awhile, due to a new cycle of sets every half year. I'm not as interested in learning about this year's. That's why the only one I really want to see is Reign of Shadows. I like having the sets I buy mean something beyond their three comics/novels within the six months of their release.
