First have to sell the wife on dropping 300+ on a single Pirate Ship. It looks really cool though and would be a Great addition!

eBay was high, I bought Queen Anne on eBay for $95 and everything else on Amazon. All brand new sealed. Very much worth it in my opinion and the Family and Kids had a blast doing it together.

Thanks Hiawatha for the welcome. We had alot of fun and there is definitely more Legos in our Familys Future. Not sure which sets we will start getting next but for sure more will be coming.

After building this I must say, The building front looked Great but..... Too many pieces left over, it called for pieces I didn't have, some parts were different than my actual parts, some of the layout pictures were very hard to tell where to put the parts. I ended up putting the sets back the way they were supposed to be, and definitely wouldn't do this again. Thanks for the hard work and the manual, don't mean to complain just the things I noticed while building it.

I would love to, but I don't think I will... That one is a toss up. Gotta justify to the Miss spending more on 2 sets I have already to make something else out of it lol. Any idea how many peices are left over if I do this?

Very Well Put. I agree that there were too many Jack's in the bunch, and that they are a little pricey. But I buy Legos for the fun of putting them together, after that they goto my Kid to play with or they sit on a shelf for looks. I don't get enjoyment of "playing" with them, therefore the playibility factor to me is out the window. I care about looks, detail, and quality. I think on the POTC sets for the Most part brought that to the table. There is no need to bash or about the POTC Lego sets, its too easy.... If you don't like them then don't buy them. As far as when I was younger I loved the classic pirate sets, as for today not so much. I think they lack in the realistic department. But hey that's my opinion as well as you all have yours so just enjoy what we get out of our Lego Sets and Have Fun! That's what it is all about!

I am going to keep them set up, gotta get a shelf built for them probably my next weekend project. I may end up combining and making Port Royal. Still not sure if I am going to or not though.

The Black Pearl was recently on sale/clearance at our Walmart here in Oklahoma for $79.97. Pretty good deal, they all got picked up fairly quick.

I'm with you on the price all in all I got the whole set for $399 online all brand new, not to bad if you compare to what it would have cost new in the store. Can't wait to get started, the designs are Awesome. The QA looks great. Really good detail.

Update- Received 3 of the 8 today, the rest arrive tomorrow. We are going to surprise the boys and set them on the table Friday night so when they wake up Saturday morning they see them. Can't wait to see their faces light up. I will post pics and vids of our build.

I hope it sticks around a little longer, we just purchased every set they have made so far. I still would like some more sets from the movie to come out. Fingers crossed they don't give up on the POTC sets just yet. See my thread we start our building Saturday night.

Man some very nice collections here, love it. I have the Queen Annes Revenge, and waiting for my Black Pearl to arrive in the mail.

I don't know if anyone has done it yet but I wired up my Queen Anne with LED's in the rear lanterns and in the cabin area, if someone has done this would they mind sharing it. I am just curious to see if there was a better way to do it and see how they did it. Here is a video of how mine turned out- Thanks.

My Wife loves Harry Potter so she was trying to get me to do that set, but the Boys and I won that fight we are all Pirate fans I am still breaking the wife into getting into this with us, she's a Girly Girl so this is a little different for her but I know she enjoys it with us. Yes Duck it is definitely going to give us lasting memories of family time together, one day I am sure you will get that Joy out of it. Until till then enjoy the Legos to yourself and not having to share them I will post some updates and pics once we start getting everything. It says maybe the 14th-16th we should start receiving things.

Me and the Family use our Kitchen table, perfect height, plenty of space, enough chairs for everyone to gather around, and don't get the back aches from working in a low space.
