  1. Great to see more cyclops in Historica! I like the lore a lot, with the description of the matriarchal society and the scavenging nature of the cyclops, reusing old structures and weapons.
  2. Very nice ornate build overall, my favorite detail is the wallpaper stripe over the gate
  3. The ruin seems like something taken straight out of Middle-earth! And that is a good thing Great job with the rockwork too
  4. Lovely building! Looks like there are a lot of cultural exchange between Kaliphlin and Mesozoic I particularly like the stained glass windows and the elevated entrance with the stairway.
  5. NPU I suppose
  6. Nice color choices and top notch photography
  7. Lovely build, with so much to see everywhere! Excellent minifigs you've composed too And great to see you back in GoH again!
  8. Great concept and very well done! So Revolword is still hiding in the shadows...?? I really like the details, particularly the mosaic and the decorations using the quarter-circle tiles.
  9. With such great categories I had to build something despite all the too short nights of having three kids and the pressure of a new and more demanding job. Happy to finally have gotten around to using all of my hieroglyph pieces, which so far hadn't found a place in any of my "modern" Kaliphlin MOCs.
  10. Throughout Kaliphlin a rumor is quickly spreading that an Anubian lich is raising an army of undead, from ancient necropoles hidden in the vast deserts of the Siccus Badlands. An ancient necropolis, silent for millennia, has suddenly been disturbed... An Anubian lich, with necromantic powers... The heavy stone slabs covering the sarcofagi are no match for the power unleashed within... A new threat to Kaliphlin and Historica? Hieroglyph panels on the left side of the back wall are sloping panels, which was a bit tricky to angle into vertical walls. But that made some room for a battery box at least! Lighting made with LifeLites; green ModuLites in the sarcofagi and a prototype UV LED pointed upwards behind the central sarcofagus to make the staff glow. Long exposure for the LifeLites + flash to illuminate the rest.
  11. Great entry, and great to see the continued close cooperation between Barqa and Mophet! May the trade always flow unhindered on the Oil Road!
  12. Great build overall and lovely texture of the walls! I like how you've managed to make the transition to the angled part almost without a gap Photography is excellent as usual (although a different color of the backdrop might have made the build "pop" slightly more than on a gray background?). Building wise, the only thing I find a bit odd is that the top of the tower feels very exposed with limited crenelation to hide from arrows (or dragonfire?) behind. But on the other hand it's such a high ground that no one probably could get a good shot at the ballista operators anyway
  13. Welcome! The sand and palm trees should be familiar from BoBS
  14. Great to see the cadence of challenges keeping up Having another kid (the third...) during the challenge wasn’t exactly great timing, but I’ll try to build something at least between changing diapers Category B is tempting...
  15. Swedish builders displaying Guilds of Historica builds at Swebrick’s 10 year anniversary exhibition in Borlänge, Sweden May 4-5 2019. #swedishlegomafia From left @Wineyard, @dalle, @Gideon, @adde51, @Drawd, @Zilmrud & @Peter S Photocred: @Ozp (with @Wineyard’s camera ) My GoH builds displayed at the event:
  16. Great scene! I love the lighting, windows and dragon skulls A fitting reward for a long faithful service to Avalonia and Historica to be crowned king! OOC: So happy we have these lattice windows now. They really make building large medieval windows so much easier... My only (very minor) nitpick is that the back wall outside of the arches is a little bit too big and gray. Looks like my sigfig!
  17. I'm still missing the option to go swap to BBcode and adjust formatting which disappeared when the forum had it's major overhaul... Especially adjusting link-heavy posts like the HSS thread is an exercise in having the marker at the right place at the right time nowadays.
  18. Here is a sample strip of the landscape used as a guideline for the design: Height (at the interface to the neighboring modules): Baseplate + 3 bricks + plate Depth: 4 baseplates (128 studs) Length: Arbitrarely The road is SNOTed and centered at the 2nd baseplate. The same goes for water, which we built SNOTed with either reddish brown or olive green. At the cross-section of visible edges of the landscape we spread about 15 log bricks per 32 section.
  19. Great lighting effect on the minifigs! I think however that the immersive effect would have been enhanced if the stray light on the background would have been avoided/removed in post processing.
  20. Nice tree design and the sigil on the front looks great I agree with the criticism of the size of the base however.
  21. Very nice scene! And who could have a better claim to the throne? It would also be great if a man who was educated in Barqa, and still is almost like a son also to lord Gideon, would become a prince of Avalonia!
  22. Yes, we had some rules on the general size of the modules and especially the interface to the neighbors. That enabled the collab to grow and shrink depending on who’s modules were present on an exhibition. Of course we also tried to sync the landscaping a bit, but except for the the SNOTed road it was more of guidelines than firm rules.
  23. The Florence setting is also lovely
  24. Excellent overall impression and great job getting the stonework so tight fitting despite the irregular shapes
