Cap is a human being in peak physical form - he has no real 'super powers'. He is not invulnerable and does not have enhanced senses. He's no stronger than the strongest human being, although it seems as if they have enhanced him a bit further in the films.
Dark Knight sets would have been shown by now - they are not coming. The Spidey set wasn't due until August wasn't it? I keep seeing talk where people think it will be the exclusive in the Avengers wave.
Looking at the initial wave (Batman), we had one non-Bats set. The Marvel wave is the same (all Avengers save for the Wolverine set). So I think it stands to reason that Fury will be in the exclusive set that we haven't seen for this line. With it projecting as one of the big films this year I guarantee that some retailer wanted their own exclusive set. I will be very surprised if a classic Spidey set would include the not-classic version of Fury. Outside of what is being done now, the two traditionally have nothing to do with one another.
I do think there will be more - as a vet of many of the NY Toy Fairs I can tell you that there are always plenty of reps available who take the retailers around to show product. I can very easily see them showing the single set with a mention that they will be continuing the line this year. They simply cannot sustain what they would hope to be an ongoing line with just one set for the year. Heroica is not the same as The Hobbit, Heroica is a grand adventure for LEGO.
The thing that concerns me about Ilrion and the future of the line is that it doesn't connect to the other sets; on the map, Ilrion is some distance away from the four initial sets. And why introduce saving the king at this point? Seems like that would be one of the last things you do.
Of course, we have to bear in mind that these aren't coming for nearly six months - it may just be that Ilrion was the most 'ready to go' at this point. Because honestly, one set for the year will not keep this product line going.
This isn't the place for the discussion, but this is not true. Lucasfilm has nothing to do with LEGO pricing their product.
Back on topic, LEGO will not do a Banner fig because in the scheme of the film, Banner is not that important. Stark and Rogers, as civilian identities, will play more prominent roles. So you would be much more likely to see either of them before you saw Banner.
Kids want the superheroes - not their civilian identities.
Has anyone done this? I have the thought of straightening Wonder Woman's lasso rather than making her look like an Amazonian cowboy. Could I dip the joint in boiling water for a bit to straighten it?
Now that Amazon US has them in, I ordered the set with Supes and am looking forward to it. This may be the first set I've put together in a decade! Overall the DC assortment reminds me too much of why I had grown bored with LEGO . . . not much originality. You have an immense amount of material to work with, and all you can come up with is redone Batman sets? I don't have much faith in them, but I do hope they prove me wrong. At least I have Avengers to look forward to
It is thick with supposed (because some of them are nuts) spoilers, so I'll just copy what it said about the LEGO sets:
The small Cap set - Cap and Fury
Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape - Loki, Cap, Thor
Hulk's Helicarrier Breakout - Hulk, Widow, Iron Man, Cap
Quinjet Aerial Battle - Thor, Hawkeye, Widow, Iron Man
As in the guy who created the site :) Thanks for the welcome.
Oh, and I forgot about Heroica - my son and I have been playing it often since this weekend.
