Thank you all very much for the kind comments! I am sorry if the girl by the fountain make somebody shiver... hihihi! But, you know, mountain girls don't feel the cold!! About the background: I really thought over a lot. Then I decided to put a tan paper behind the MOC to bring out the all the details. About the snake: I am really happy that you appreciate that detail. I used it in some other buildings of my Winter Village.Last year in a Lego exhibition we had in my hometown, a kid came closer and then asked me: “Excuse me sir, why did you put a snake in the chimney?” Too funny!! A little update: if you want to see more pictures, just follow the link below http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/351645

I have kept keep building modules for my "modular" Winter Village in an Italian Alpine style set nowadays. Last year, even before the first rumors about the official Lego Winter Village Cottage, I started to think about something "similar", and I ended up with building this mountain lodge. I was inspired by a house I saw last February in Valle d'Aosta and since I saw it I decided to reproduce it with Lego bricks. Actually during the work I had to reach some compromises, so the result is quite different from the original, but I am really happy with it. As you can see the lodge is made with stone and on the inside the walls are covered with wood. Every window has wooden shutters with catches and dark red curtains in the typical alpine style and . On the ground floor you can find the kitchen with all the needed appliances and a cozy fireplace with a fishing trophy on top of it. On the first floor there's the bedroom with a dresser and a bed, whose design I am quite proud of. There's also a French window (with the same dark red awnings) leading to the wooden front balcony. You can see Jeremy, the master of the house, who must have stayed up very late... Meanwhile his wife Clare is already at work. On the top of the roof I put a weathercock, still in the alpine style. I guess you are asking about the reason for the four technic bricks on the back of the house... The answer is very simple: this is just a half of the entire lodge, that you can open to see the inside and it has also a basement with a cellar, but, obviously, the entire building would have been too big to enter this contest! With the loge come also a (frozen) fountain, two beehives and a ATV with a trailer loaded with logs. And he is Tom, the village lumberjack, coming back from the woods with a load of logs; he has his favorite axe on the front of his ATV and brings alway snowshoes with him, to be ready for anything. Hope you like it as I do! More pictures in the next days on Mocpages... stay tuned!

B-OV-18B Since the first box of the Winter Village theme, the Toy Shop, I came up with the idea that the Village lies in the mountains. So, year after year, I expanded it in a sort of "northern italy - mountain" style. So this year I decided to add a Mountain Guides station, because, you know, mountains can be very dangerous! I started with the image in my head of a wooden chalet, and from this first idea I developed the design with LDD. The outcome is in the next pictures and I'm pleased with it. I know, I know, it's a slyghtly bigger than the other buildings of the winter village, and if, in some way, you find it weird with the sidewalks and other details, like the hydrant, there's a reason. I built it for my "modular winter village"; the module is based on the 32x32 baseplate and has a street with sidewalk on the both sides, but that is another story and it's a little off topic. But let's return to my creation: on the main floor you can find the core of the station with an office desk, chair, computer, desk lamp and a cabinet, to manage all the reports and the emergency calls. On the side of the office there's a garage with an ATV, ready for every emergency, and all the equipment for its maintenance. The first floor is divided in two: the first part is an observation terrace with the flags of the mountain guides (I drew them, starting from the snowboard of the serie 5 snowboarder guy and from the airplane of the Flying Mummy Attack and then printed on self-adesive paper) and a telescope, and the second part is an attic for various equipment. Finally, on the roof I put a satellite dish for emergency communications. In the last picture you can also see the ATV leaving for a rescue mission. In total there are 7 figures: 4 mountan guides and 3 boy scouts, full of excitement waiting for their first hike in the snow. I hope you enjoy it! Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to everyone!! Hello everyone!! My name is Luigi and I'm from Italy. I'm a 40 years old AFOL who had his first box of Lego at the age of 5. In the 2009, after an almost 20 years long dark age, I decided to buy for my 39th birthday the Winter Village Toy Shop. But it was only one year later, with the release of the Winter Village Bakery, that I started to build again seriously (more or less). I am mainly a City theme fan, and, right now, I am working on a "modular" winter village. I have been reading your forum for almost a year and I finally decided to join it.
