LEGO Collector's Guide & LEGO Collector - Premium Edition
adik_sa_lego replied to Matija's topic in General LEGO Discussion
it would sell like gold on ebay and bl :( -
just got this last week. it's huuuge. i don't mind that it doesn't have a "show" engine, problem is if you want to build Felipe Massa's car instead of Kimi's (which is the one on the box), you would need an extra 2x3 red plate, 1x3 red plate, and a 1x1 red cheese slope, so that the color scheme of the top wing would be accurate (located above the cockpit, by default it is black since that's the color for Kimi's car).

maybe it wouldnt be so bad to add bricks outside the tumbler set, as long as you can integrate it, just like in the movie. but it's still a great job done and still lovin' it

The different prices on LEGO in the US vs. Europe
adik_sa_lego replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Lego is also handled by a private company here in the Philippines, hence the very jacked up prices. The smallest indy set (jungle duel) and the smallest batman set (buggy and mr. freeze) cost around US$30. it is much cheaper to order off bricklink or eBay, since my post office won't charge me for customs. only drawback is it might get lost in the mail (never lost a parcel, but already lost 2 small orders). this private company, which is somewhat affiliated to our local Lego group, gives customs and shipping charges for the price. But heck, if i could bring sets over airmail for a much lower price, why can't they? (i have ordered bulk sets and still no customs, per box price is very much lower). the only sets i wouldn't order online are the impulse sets, which are by far the only sets cheaper to buy here than online. i really do hope TLC expands globally, so that other companies won't steal their profits and cheaper sets would be available to more countries (as compared to the non-TLC countries' situation now). -
The different prices on LEGO in the US vs. Europe
adik_sa_lego replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
it's an illustration of the law of supply and demand. In Europe, there is high demand, even if supply is adequate, this demand drives those prices up. In the US, there is lower demand and higher supply due to the presence of competitors. Hence, they need to lower their prices. As for Australia and Asia, I have just come to terms that shipping and customs costs are the ones causing these prices to go way too high. -

adik_sa_lego replied to Dovchenko's topic in General LEGO Discussion
i'd have the 4954 model town home as my permanent residence, and the 4996 Beach House as my vacation getaway. great thing about these sets is, i can re-model anytime! -

Review.. 4997 Creator Transport Ferry
adik_sa_lego replied to 5150 Lego's topic in Special LEGO Themes
might get three of these just to be able to build the alternative models. all of them are beeyuuteeefuuullll. -
not really a what should i buy question, because i already bought them, but what should i do with the 2nd one. one of my 8157 orders is on its way here from Australia, should be arriving next week. The other is arriving next month thanks to a good friend. should i: 1.) build both for Massa and Raikkonen 2.) build one, keep one MISB 3.) get a third one in the far distant future <<< my only worry here is that it might get too expensive if i wait too long.

i suggest you get the 7998 since it's been discontinued and was only available for a short period of time. the 7733 will be here to stay at least until the end of the year. :)

Do the Classic Space uniform colors mean anything?
adik_sa_lego replied to KDog's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
maybe the red ones were cosmonauts? and Lego had a vision that one day, astronauts and cosmonauts would work together hand in hand, which goes in line with their anti-war model policy. -
i rate this a 5! one of my last sets before my dark age. suspension wheels are superb and are rare! the minifig, although smiling, really looks tough because of the tanktop. oh did i say im giving it a 5?

Set Review 3832 Bikini Bottom hospital
adik_sa_lego replied to Navy Trooper Fenson's topic in LEGO Licensed
oh so spongebob was the injured one. I thought this set depicted the episode wherein Mr. Krabs was the one rushed to the hospital. -

thanks for the upclose review! does the sticker sheet have the numbers 5 and 6 or is it only the 6 as pictured in the box?

emailed already my suggestion. a commuter theme! a bus, taxi cab, a street car, or a horse carriage would be nice!

i bought this set for the sake of completion of the Lego Ferrari sets, but since I already have the Finish Line set, it really looks out of place.

Hi fellow EBers. I'm afraid that the new Ferrari model, 8157 F1 1:9 won't be released here in the Philippines. is there anyone willing to help me acquire it? will pay for shipping and through Paypal. Thanks!
