  1. Hey, I think it looks really good! The 4 stud windscreen doesn't bother me at all! Can you fit a minifigure inside? I would certainly prefer your version over the official one.
  2. Bigger and more details definitely doesn't automatically equal better. I personally enjoy looking at creative "imperfect" solutions for a let's say 6 or even 4 stud base so much more than those hyper detailed, smooth 8 stud cars. The new Pokemon sets are another great example of this. Ironically the smallest Pokémon builds (the 3 starter ones) work so much better than Pikachu, and they are like a third of the size.
  3. Thank you again, everyone :) Happy y'all like it. Yes, I'm the same Stefan :D Would love to do more digital art like this, but since CG is also my day-to-day job I got a bit burned out and needed a break from it. So for the moment I try to spend more time with real bricks, and I'm strictly sticking to photography for the YouTube videos to reduce my time in front of the computer.
  4. Thank you for the lovely comments Regarding MOCs, I share the same problem. The variety of pieces is so overwhelming, that I feel it's impossible to do modern MOCs because I would need a gigantic library of parts and colors. My spare parts are only vintage ones and already almost taking up too much space. No way I could store a meaningful selection of modern parts. And yeah, the new Pirates of Barracuda Bay, you can tell that they tried to really capture the old design language (while still keeping it modern), and it's exactly why it's so successful.
  5. Hey everyone, I've been reading on this forum for many years (silently), but only got to create an account now. I recently started a new YouTube channel which is a mix of showing my classic LEGO pirates world that I'm building, but also doing research and deep dives into the design of these old sets. Several people suggested to me, that there would be an interest on this forum in seeing this kind of content, so I figured I post it here :) Would be happy to hear if you would like to see this kind of content, and if you have any suggestions, ideas or feedback, would love to discuss!
