Hi everyone,
I’m looking for a highly skilled LEGO MOC designer for a paid, long-term commercial project.
This is not a casual or hobby build, and I want to be clear about expectations upfront so I don’t waste anyone’s time.
Project Overview
We are developing premium brick-built dog portraits (head / bust only), intended as display pieces or keepsakes rather than toys.
These will eventually be sold through an ecommerce brand.
The goal is to create high-detail, sculptural animal busts that are:
• instantly recognizable by breed
• visually premium
• structurally sound
• manufacturable at scale
If someone familiar with dogs cannot identify the breed within 1–2 seconds, the design is not acceptable.
Style & Quality Reference
The target quality is closer to a museum-style brick sculpture, not cartoonish LEGO art.
The design requires:
• strong silhouettes
• accurate breed proportions
• careful shaping of ears, muzzle, skull, and chest
• a clean look suitable for home display
Flat faces, generic dog shapes, toy-like proportions, or overly simplified MOCs will not work for this project.
Technical / Manufacturing Requirements
This part is important:
• LEGO-compatible parts only (GoBricks preferred due to catalog depth)
• designs must be optimized for repeat production
• you should be comfortable designing with BOM discipline in mind
Deliverables (per design)
• complete brick-built 3D model
• editable design file (Studio / CAD / similar)
• BOM (Bill of Materials) in Excel or similar format
• willingness to iterate based on feedback
Scale & Compensation
Initial phase: 1–2 designs to confirm fit and workflow
Short-term: ~5 designs
Long-term roadmap: ~15 total designs
This is a paid project and I’m hoping to build an ongoing working relationship rather than a one-off commission.
Who This Is For
A good fit if you:
• have experience with large or sculptural LEGO MOCs
• understand how to balance detail with buildability
• are comfortable designing for commercial use
• care deeply about quality and accuracy
Probably not a good fit if you primarily build:
• small figurines
• playful or cartoon-style MOCs
• concept art that doesn’t translate to real bricks
If this sounds interesting, please send a message here with your portfolio, quote, and ETA.
