  1. Great observation, and thanks for your curiosity! The locomotive’s firebox should indeed be a bit lower; however, as you can see in the photo, the black element prevents me from doing so, since it’s a structural piece running through the entire cab. Still, I tried to keep it as realistic as possible with the colors and by referencing photos of the real locomotive’s cab I found online. Regarding the tender and the motorization, I’m attaching an image I’ve already posted on the official LEGO Ideas website, where I show that specific detail about the motor setup and the bogies. I should also mention that I used the 88011 electric motor, since it’s currently the most readily available official LEGO motor.
  2. It’s true! In fact, I love building and collecting the models I create in Lego Stud.io! By Technic pieces, I mean a single liftarm in the center that creates that slope
  3. Hey @Shiva Thanks a lot for the kind words, I’m really glad you like the project 😊 As for the slight tilt of the boiler, I didn’t use any flexible parts (although that would have been a great idea!). Instead, I worked with some Technic elements, which allowed me to achieve that gentle angle while keeping the structure solid enough. On top of that, I built several arches to create the smooth, aerodynamic shape. Since I also built a physical version of the model (not just the Studio file), I tried to use parts that are easy to find and still in current production, to make the project more “buildable” in real life.
  4. Hey @JopieK, thanks for your message! 😊 I actually discovered that model through this video, but my build is mainly based on the original locomotive’s construction plans. If you’re curious about any specific parts of the design or how I built certain sections, I’d be happy to answer! 🤗
  5. Thanks a lot @LL1982 for your comment! 😊 I’ve created a render of the cab to show its interior — I tried to reproduce it as realistically as possible by carefully studying videos of the real locomotive. Glad you like the streamlined look and colour scheme! 💙 If you’re interested, you can follow all the updates on LEGO Ideas — I’ll be posting more details and photos of the model there soon.
  6. Hi everyone! I’d like to share my latest build — a faithful 1:35 scale model of the Austrian Class 310 Steam Locomotive, shown here in its elegant light blue livery used by the Austrian Federal Railways in the early 1900s. This model features plenty of realistic details, including: the distinctive aerodynamic boiler shape, opening driver’s doors, a detailed cab interior, front lights and steps, leaf springs and standard magnetic couplings, and the largest original LEGO train wheels. The chassis is fully articulated, allowing the locomotive to run smoothly on standard LEGO tracks. Inside the tender, it’s also possible to install a Powered Up motor and hub — a gear transmission is already integrated into the rear bogie. I’ve built and tested the model with real bricks to ensure both functionality and robustness. You can see more photos and support the project on LEGO Ideas here: https://beta.ideas.lego.com/product-ideas/f7985192-e643-4cd3-a32c-aadf43239540 Hope you enjoy it — and I’d love to hear your thoughts, suggestions, or ideas for improvement! Thanks for stopping by, and keep the steam going!
