  1. This thing is seriously impressive - the way you packed all that logic into pure mechanics with no motors or anything is wild. The 18th-century automaton vibe looks spot on too, especially with the medieval shields and swords theme.
  2. I’ve been playing around with the Xbox controller support in Pybricks recently — it does work really well for direct control once you get the pairing going, you don’t need an app in between anymore and you can actually get smooth analog control on models like cranes or trucks.
  3. Awesome stuff! Been ages since I messed with the Rock Raiders PC game and trying to track down anything like the original manual is such a nostalgia trip. The official game did have a proper instruction manual back in the day that covered controls, buildings, units, and how base/resource management worked, but it’s pretty rare to find scans of it online nowadays unless someone archived it somewhere like the Internet Archive or old manual sites.
  4. I still think this is such a cool concept! The way you captured those early‑CGI vibes from the Money for Nothing video is wild, and the characters really read well in brick form. Was bummed that it didn’t fit the 80s TV/Movie theme at first, but glad it got into the general Ideas pool - that’s the place for creative stuff like this. Definitely brings back memories of watching MTV way too much as a kid.
  5. The terrain transitions and the desert palette all over the map give it that “wasteland but still lived‑in” feeling, which is tough to nail. On the flip side, some of the rooflines and structural detailing feel a bit simplified compared to the actual game textures—but that’s totally understandable given brick constraints.
  6. The effect shows up because the prism-foil layer and the printed image underneath are slightly misaligned. When you look straight on, the foil “shares” a frame of the animation and it looks like the logo duplicates.
  7. Actual usable buttons with a good tactile feel (A/B + D-pad + Start/Select) that don’t feel too “toy-ish”.
  8. I love the idea of using character bases to track threat levels, it adds a cool layer of strategy. Also, Bat-Mite being unpredictable is a fun touch—he could definitely cause some chaos in a game!
