My first Lego set was #722 which I got in 1982. It had a factory defective piece. A red 1 x 8 x 1/3 block (sheet ?). Was molded a little too short so it wouldn’t assemble fully to other blocks. Since it was my first set, I didn’t have anything to replace it with, so it was disheartening to have to work around it. I ended up cracking a large sheet while trying to force it in place.
I kept all the 2500 or so Legos I accumulated as a kid. Played with them with my daughter but now she’s grown and gone too. I still have them in a box in the garage, I’ll dig out the defective piece if it’s worth anything.
