  1. Thanks! Hopefully, during the Holydays, I'll be able to organize my collection in full (or most of it). Then, I'll have access to my 35K, or so, bricks and we'll see what I can do with more than one set. I am already planning a base on an alien planet... Thanks again, Patrikc
  2. Spectacular! I don't know much about Insectoid so it's a really good introduction to the theme for me!
  3. Thanks! I worked "hard" on that one! (though playing with Lego is no work! ) These are satellite comm-link dishes so the two stay can communicate when they are separated.
  4. Well done! Funny bomber. At first I thought it was a blimp. Given the size of the plane, maybe a crew of two would be suitable.
  5. Thanks! That's one thing I was looking for: that they be very different but related in some way. Patrick
  6. Hello! Here is a ground exploration vehicule combo for extended missions. The smaller one can go where the big one can't, or for brief separate missions, or in case of an emergency. I made the same kind of models a few years ago but that was with a combination of many small sets and Lil' Tom was strangely hooked to Big Joe. This time, I changed the hook-up between the two and used only set 4891. I finally got a new camera so, from now on, I will have real pictures to show. (yes, there is a piece added so that Lil' Tom stays in place while rolling down the ramp) Thanks for looking! C&C welcome!
  7. Hello! Mostly a space scooter with a pair of big and powerful red-ray guns, the intent was to destroy capital ships from a very small platform that would be hard to destroy in return. Very maneuverable but slow because of the weight of the weapons, it never was a big success, though the one pictured is adorned with 3 black plates, the white hull plates being replaced progressively by black ones with each kill. The overheating also sometimes caused self-destruction, due to a lack of heat sinks. A larger version was proposed but was ditched in favour of medium-class ships, more suited to the task of transporting and shooting with the heavy-weight guns. It is still in limited service but is now mostly used by space pirates who attack convoys from asteroid fields. Thanks for looking! C&C welcome! Patrick
  8. Thanks! I'll try provide instructions tomorrow. Patrick
  9. Hello ! Here is a microscale hopper, the equivalent of an helicopter in a low-gravity, atmosphere-less environment. Nicknamed "Puppy", it can carry 4 passengers and a crew of 2 and is ubiquitous in mining sites around the galaxy. It floats in the air thanks to its diamagnetic system. Built with set 4915 alone. Thanks for looking! C&C welcome!
  10. Hello! A freighter from the pair of sets that I use for space MOCs. 110 pieces. Thanks for looking! Let me know what you think.
  11. Hello again! I improved (I think) my little truck, mainly by reworking the cab so that a minifig can sit in it, although it must be bald and not wear a hat. Here it is: Thanks for looking! C&C welcome!
  12. Hello ! I mostly build spacy things but I also enjoy building vehicles from time to time. I like building with small sets, especially with Creator and now with Bricks and More litlle boxes. So I took my 5930 set and fiddled with it to build a truck cab and chassis. With the parts left and remembering a toy tow truck from the Maisto Fresh Metal line, I tried to capture it. It is the kind of tow truck with a flat bed at the back, but angled. I don't know if it exists in real life (I searched for tow truck pictures but did not find something like it) but here goes anyway. Thanks for looking! C&C welcome!
  13. Hello ! Built for speed and speed only, its nickname does not refer only to its quickyness. Built from set 5866 alone. Colour-wise, I'd wish there were red slopes with grille rather than dark bley ones. I tried to avoid yellow parts but there is one visible 1x6 plate and two hidden 1x1 plates. Thanks for looking! C&C welcome! Patrick
  14. Hello ! Remember the X-Pods ? From set 4417 I built this light hover-tank. Thanks for looking ! C&C welcome !
  15. Oooh! Am I glad to have only a single 2X4 brick in my collection !
  16. Funny little thingies! I think the brown works for light colours but not so well with dark colours. Overall, the beige is better for me.
  17. Hello ! I bought this week-end set 5864 and I couldn't resist the urge of trying some MOCs out of this little set. Creator Mini sets tend to get smaller and smaller. I wish TLG would drop the plastic container and give us more pieces instead. Oh well ! First, I built an anti-grav scooter, not without an SP3 flare (though it would need a transparent blue plate in place of one of the red one). It can fit a minifig but in a wobbly fashion. Next we have a dropship. The whole part back of the cockpit can pivot for easy loading or unlaoding. Then a little escape pod (or maybe a little shuttle that goes from ship to ship in an orbital spaceport). A finally a transport, more conventionnal than the dropship. I am kind of proud of the engine on this one! I had containers for both the dropship and the transport but for the sake of showing you more clearly these little ships, I deleted them from most of the pictures. Thanks for looking! C&C welcome !
  18. Hello ! You may want to add my two space MOCs built from combining sets 4918 and 6741. Thanks, Patrick
  19. Thanks for the welcome, Zenn ! It was a collection of poems written in French. French is my mother-tongue and I am not perfectly bilingual, so you may notice that my English is quirky at times. Thanks again ! Patrick
  20. Thanks for the welcome, fallenangel309 ! I also like Philip Glass. Yes, I have used set 4882 alot but I guess I got tired of blue and yellow , though I still think it is one of the greatest small sets. You can see one sample of what I built with it here. So, until I get tired of white and red , I am using these two sets. Of course, if I ever manage to organize my whole collection , things would change. I need to have pieces sorted in order to use them, even the small amount of 143 pieces these two sets account for (they are sorted in two small plastic boxes with compartments).
  21. I find it great ! Nice parts usage and color combination ! I especially like how the red wheels stand out. Patrick
  22. Thanks ! You are right about the racer being a small 1 or 2 persons (at most) ship. The Explorer being taller and having two bridges, I see it as having a commander bridge on top (so 2 persons I guess) and a small scientists team working on the bridge underneath. In my view, it would be transported by a larger ship to the research area. Thanks again ! Patrick
  23. Hello ! My first MOC posting here. Here are two MOCs I created using parts from sets 4918 and 6741. I like this restriction of building with only one or two small sets. First is the MJMF-77 Racer : I called it MJMF-77 because of the Mini Jet and Mini Flyers sets and because it uses 77 pieces. Instructions for building it can be found here. Next is the Explorer, using the same combination of sets : I cannot at the moment take real pictures of the MOCs, so sorry for the LDView files. This should be corrected in the near future. Thanks for looking ! C&C are welcome !
  24. Thanks for the welcome, Charlieboy ! Since I can't get correct photos of my MOCs right now (I need to get a tripod), I'll have to resort to the good old LDView files in order to post my spacy MOCs. Thanks, Patrick
  25. Hello ! Some of you may know me from the Classic Space Forum. I build mainly space MOCs and have a tendancy to restrict myself to use small sets in order to do so. Although I own about 35K LEGO pieces, I have been using set 4882 alone for years. Currently, I am combining sets 4918 and 6741 for building. This is mainly because of space considerations, of course. I guess I buy more sets than I can manage... I'm also interested in photography (I'm just learning the ropes about this so it may take a little while before I post pictures of my MOCs), music (I play the ukulele) and writing (I wrote a little book that was published a few years ago). That's about it concerning me. Thanks for this forum ! I have been lurking for a few weeks since I have registered and I think it is a great place.
