Mom builds lego

Have you checked for stock at the Lego retail stores? The online store in Canada lets you put in your address to check local stores for sold out items (sadly we don’t have any Lego Stores in Atlantic Canada). What about other toy retailers? In Canada we have Masrermind Toys and Toy R Us, there must be some other big toy retailers that might carry it. Best of luck getting Gringotts!

In Canada the great hall is on sale but the main tower is not. Some smaller sets are on sale like the knight bus, the book nook, Diagon Alley shops and the advent calendar. Also the mini scale Diagon Alley and Castle/grounds are on sale. Costco online has the book nook and Malfoy Manor on sale.

Some sets in Canada have paper bags but I would say most are still plastic and all the poly bags are still plastic - I have yet to see a paper polybag. The most recent sets I built were the potions classroom, dueling club and Hagrids Hut - all were plastic bags. I think some of my daughter’s Animal Crossing sets had paper bags. Collectable mini figures have been in cardboard boxes for a while.

I really hope the new poly bag, 30724 Dumbledore’s Office, has the new collectible portraits! I’ve only built a couple of the new sets (if only I had a bigger home to display all my sets!) and I already have duplicates The poly bags were how I completed my collectible frog card collection after numerous duplicates - even though I had every set, and some sets I had multiples of, I still had to search through poly bags for the last 4 cards I was missing.

Not sure about the US, but we usually have similar sales in Canada. Here, Costco online has Malfoy Manor and they usually have several sets on sale for Black Friday. Malfoy Manor was also on sale during Amazon Prime days so I think you are most likely to see that one on sale sooner or for a deeper discount than the staircase tower. In the States, Costco has more lego available so they may have the staircase tower too. Even the regular price at Costco is considerably cheaper than lego.com.

How can I find “the usual place”?
