I can see your Dilemma. I now have an 8month old son and just recently got back into Legos. I'm looking to possibly purchase every Lego Sail ship out there. However I will be keeping them from my child until he grows older. This way he will be able to respect what they are and what value they hold. I still have plenty of other Legos that he can play with when the time comes. as of right now for his first Christmas I will be getting him some Very Large Duplo blocks to help tied him over till he can move onto the next stage. Will my son become a LEGO MANIAC like I once was. I hope someday.

Look what I just got - Report your latest Pirate LEGO acquisitions

Picked up brickbeads bounty last night. -
Yes I did unlock it. The only problem I have is that I am trying to build a ship that has all parts that can be bought from lego. I just hate that you can't purchase a boats hull from lego I hate that message telling me well if you add this you can not find out how much the ship will cost!

Update: 11-11-11 Current list 4195 - Queen Ann's Revenge 4184 - Black Pearl 10210 - Imperial Flagship 6243 - Brickbeard's Bounty 6268 - Renegade Runner (Pieces coming soon to complete) I will say that so far the Brickbeard is the ship I dislike the most. More or less the mast and sail designs than anything.

Sorry for the Vague title. I have been playing around in LDD for a little bit and have managed to come up with a very very large hull for a ship that I would like to create. I just find it very hard to find pieces for my ship that I would be able to purchase. What I am trying to do is make everything on my ship be able to get purchased(already at $86 for the hull base) Anyway. I was just wondering if anyone else has tried to do this with the same premise and if so did you succeed? I am working on a non purchaseable ship as well but think it would be more cool to build something brick for brick. It's just very frustrating that LDD is so limited!

That is a nice fleet you got there.
-
You know I see everyone having the flags the other way. But if you think about it if you are sailing the flags would be going the way I put them.
-
Stock Vs. Stock I would say the only match for the Imperial Flagship would be the Black Seas Barracuda. It's built with maneuverability in mind as well as a close enough fire power.
-
Well here you go. Sorry it is not better quality. My Nikon is at work. So my Dell Streak 5 Photo will have to do. Like stated before the Renegade runner will not by complete until mid November.

UPDATE: Black Pearl - 4184 Queen Ann's Revenge - 4195 Imperial Flagship - 10210 Renegade Runner - 6286(Bought parts just waiting to get them will have completed by mid November) Next is the Vintage Imperial Flagship.

Just Picked up the 10210 Imperial Flagship to add to my slowly growing Fleet. -
Boo! I can't watch it in the U.S. some stupid Copyright thing. Got any other way or watching it?
-
Looks awesome. I don't care what it looks like or size but if Lego releases it that would be the cooliest thing ever!
-
Nice I was thinking of doing something like this myself. For the complete set is going to $300+ in most cases. I have pieces of my old Renegade Runner that I am slowly piecing together with parts from bricklink.
-
Slowly building up my Fleet. Black Pearl - 4184 Queen Ann's Revenge - 4195 Renegade Runner - 6286(Getting pieces to rebuild)
-
I agree. I was thinking of tearing down both the Pearl and QAR. Going out and getting another Pearl and building both to gather. Using some pieces from both ships.
-
Well I broke down and got a QAR. I now understand every ones problem with it. Really for the $$$ I paid for it I expected a lot more detail. The BP that is $20 cheaper looks waaaaay better IMO. Don't get me wrong I still love both the ships but the BP wins hands down. About the only problem with the BP was the anchor. If I were to MOC it to be like the QAR then it would look nice. The thing that dissapointed me most about the QAR is the cabin. It's very small and again for what I paid for I should at least get a door area or at least and enclosed cabin like the real QAR. BP 7/10 QAR 7/10 To say the least they both have their strengths and weaknesses!
-
Arrrgh. I am torn. IDK if I should get another BP to add to my other BP and MOC it up to make it look more like the real deal or go and get the QAR? Maybe I'll just go ahead and throw out both of those Ideas and get the Imperial Flagship? Decisions, Decisions?
-
Looks great. I was thinking of picking up another BP and trying to get as close to the real ship as possible. Sporting 11 cannons(if possible), Some steps on the side of the ship(to get onto the ship via boat), 3 windows on the side and the 5 windows on the rear(problem with that is that the outer windows are actually glass windows on the pearl. Very tempting!

It would be nice to get a second wave of POTC. I would like the interceptor as well as a flying dutchman! Or better yet all of the pirate ships from At worlds end. -

hmmm... Really Lego offically released it. I will have to check the Lego store in my Mall to see if they carry it. EDIT: 3:30pm I had a chance after my meeting to take a look at the LEGO store at my Mall. They now have the Black pearl for sale. I didn't ask why but I am sure it's because target jumping the gun. Just giving people a heads up at my Woodfield Mall(Schaumburg, IL) Location LEGO store they do have it. -
That looks very nice. A much better rendering to the real pearl IMO. Do you happen to have a build list? I was going to buy another BP to try this out.
-
I agree with the Anchor part. I think it looks a little tacky sitting there. One thing I didn't like, But there was a quick fix was the front MAST/Sail the wire rigging to position the sail. The Directions said to place it in a certain spot doing this it make the sail look a little flimsy to me. Might just be me. Like I said though it can be fixed with moving the button piece on the end of the rope piece further up on the grey 4x1 flat piece on the upper mast.

Black Pearl Part of RENEGADE RUNNER(in the process of buying parts to complete) Next on my list is the Queen Ann's Revenge
-
I am along with others. This ship is great. I have only owned one other ship and that was the Renegade Runner. The size of this ship is not what I expected. I was think about the size of the Renegade Runner. I can't even imagine how big the Imperial Flagship is. I am looking forward into getting the QAR soon.
