It's a grey part from the steering rack that the wheel hub is mounted to - its not completely flat, surrounding of the round holes is sticking out and its being caught by the frame under load. I used nail polisher i stole from my wife and i made that part flat. Works perfectly after doing that.

Hello Lego Historian, I know I am digging out in a graveyard but hopefully you could share some light on my subject of interest. I have recently bought a wooden storage box filled with Old Lego bricks. I've managed to build a few sets from early 1970s but i am just curious if the box is a genuine Lego item or not really. The previous owner said that there was a paper Lego sign on the inside of the lid but it had peeled off some time ago. I can't find an exact same box anywhere.
