  1. What if Lego Batman in the third act of his movie says, "Lego Batman, what a joke," throws his mask away, and wears Rick Flag's shirt in his honour
  2. Does this mean you can't even unlock villains in to use in free play mode? If so, that's kind of awful.
  3. It looks like the Epic Battle sets are designed just to be dioramas that fit on that specific circular black base, so there probably wouldn't be too many side builds, play features, or extra characters. The subline seems to suit 1v1 or 1v2 fights much more than larger-scale scenes like the Battle on Titan, which I think should be done in a similar style to the recent AoU Sokovia and CW Airport dioramas. I'd like to see Tony vs. Iron Monger in this style - the last one felt needlessly oversized, and 5-6 years is probably enough time for a remake. And maybe Batman vs. Bane for the DC side This would be ideal, surely Lego wouldn't have made a new Winter Soldier torso print and only use it once (inaccurately) in the Civil War set? Since the black printed name tile seems to be following the SEO naming conventions listing all the characters involved, I really want the plaque to read: Spider-Man: No Way Home Green Goblin vs. Spider-Man, Spider-Man, and Spider-Man Genuinely thought it was a Hal Jordan mech at first glance
  4. There's something almost cruel about giving Cap dual-molding and leg printing but limiting it to only one leg on a half-venomized version, especially since they'll probably never use it on a normal minifig of him. The Bugle does look great though, it'll probably need some modifying for a bit of extra width, but I do far prefer this design/colour scheme to the basic grey office building design used for the D2C. Really glad they were able to re-use the Rhino piece from the 4+ sets before the mold was discontinued, and his mech looks surprisingly decent as well, not nearly as unfitting as the previous times they've included mechs in regular sets.
  5. This is probably a retcon meant to absolve him of any implied deaths due to collateral damage, but World War Hulk does establish that part of his subconscious does make sure to avoid casualties. The line "as long as your brain hasn't been tampered with" is meant to get around the instances of mind control or induced hallucinations, which were at play in most of his deadlier rampages. Although this rule probably wasn't the case in the earlier MCU or some other adaptations.
  6. Hulk doesn't necessarily belong in the same category as Punisher or Wolverine, it isn't that common for him to purposely commit murder when he's in control.
  7. The partially transformed approach is my absolute nightmare scenario for Symbiote Spidey
  8. Steve's minifig was definitely the biggest misfire out of all of them, he almost looks like the 10th Doctor to me. I know the Peter Parker head is overused in a lot of themes but I do honestly think it would have fit him better here. As for a better hairpiece, maybe Han Solo's could work? The picture is too low-quality to tell if Robin reuses Hermione's face or the new one introduced for Nami in One Piece, the latter would be a strange choice though since she never really registered as ginger to me, especially not compared to Max or her crush from marching band. Dark tan seems like a better choice for her hairpiece, unfortunately that specific one with the fringe doesn't yet exist in that colour, I might take one from an extra Thor minifig instead. Nancy likeness was probably rendered the best, the re-use of the Gabby's Dollhouse piece for her poofy 80s hair was a solid choice, and it looks like her face print is completely new, I'm glad it wasn't the Jyn Erso head again.
  9. This is really promising, 13 minifigs would seem to cover the entire main cast with the 6 younger kids, 4 older teenagers, Hopper & Joyce, and probably Vecna. Too bad about Eddie though if it's based on S5. The upcoming Goonies set is probably the easiest thing to compare it to, with a similar price/piece count and 12 minifigs. They were able to include unique torsos for each of the characters, and a couple of new molds, so I imagine it will be the same here. Would this not be breaking Lego's rule about R-rated media though? I'm not sure if it works the same for streaming shows as it does for regular movies/tv shows.
  10. Official pics of BttF DeLorean are out now, it's easily become my favourite of the licensed Speed Champions sets. The fact that they were able to include both Doc and Marty really makes the similarly-priced 2026 Batmobiles look like such a worse deal in comparison, with only one minifig each.
  11. This is actually fairly surprising since the new season is MA 15+ and Netflix has retroactively applied that rating to the whole show. The Creel house seems the most likely choice, although hopefully they would take a different approach to it than with the previous set, having both the regular version and the upside down variant of the same building just seems superfluous to me.
  12. At least they're finally taking advantage of the one positive aspect of the new cowl piece and actually using different head pieces for the various actors. It looks like Pattinson reuses Paul Atreides' face print and Affleck has the new Quicksilver/Bucky head piece. All of the minifigs are genuinely really well-done, it's just a shame they chose to exclude every other character not named Batman. The BvS Batmobile does look better from certain angles than the 2016 version, but the lack of the specially-molded doors does hurt it a little. The Reeves version seems about as good as the 2022 one, although I can't properly tell if it will only have room for one minifig. I wonder if Lego had any information about The Batman Part II by the time this set was in production, because I could see a possibility where this set retires and then another version including sequel characters releases almost immediately after. Compared to the other two using airbrushed promotional images, the realistic photo of Battinson just staring directly at you from the corner of the box is frying me
  13. Live-Action Infinity War: Battle on Titan ($100) Similar to the previous diorama-type sets, the set would mostly be terrain with additional builds representing Strange and Thanos' various magic attacks (Mirror Dimension, etc.) Thanos, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Iron Spider, Drax, Mantis, Nebula, Quill Includes the Sakaaran ship Nebula arrives in Avengers Compound ($130) Mostly based on scenes from Civil War and Ant-Man Tony Stark (Suit + Sunglasses), War Machine (CW), Vision, Wanda, Hawkeye (CW), Falcon, Ant-Man Thor vs. The Destroyer ($30) Includes S.H.I.E.L.D. 4x4 and buildable Destroyer figure - around the size of the recent Hammer Drones but with better proportions. Thor, Jane, Agent Coulson The Bro Thor headpiece gotta cease, my man wasn't even 30 in this movie lmao Captain America vs. HYDRA ($15) Quasi-Battle Pack, similar to the recent Iron Legion set Captain America (WWII), HYDRA Goons (Regular x2, Flamethrower x1) Includes two motorcycles and some environment builds Black Panther: Royal Talon Fighter ($40) Black Panther, T'Challa (King), Shuri, Killmonger (Vegeta Cosplay) Iron Man: Malibu Mansion ($120) A mix of scenes from the Iron Man Trilogy Tony Stark (Casual), Pepper Potts, Happy Hogan, Iron Man Mk. 42 & Mk. 3, Trevor Slattery, Obadiah Stane Small mech-sized Iron Monger suit with helmet Includes a 1:1 remake of Mandarin's golf cart Comics Spider-Man: Shocker's Bank Heist ($40) Spider-Man (Symbiote), Black Cat, Shocker, Security Guard Connects to other Spider-Man street sets Spider-Man: Circus Showdown ($50) Spider-Man, Daredevil, Bullseye, Mysterio Inspired by 75637 Captain America's Ameri-Car ($30) Captain America, Zemo, Hawkeye Includes Hawkeye's Skycycle side-build
  14. I assume they'll stick to a rule of only fully masked/armoured characters, Ant-Man and Black Panther seem likely, maybe Doom a little later in the year. Although since the Iron Man bust is retiring sooner than initially intended, it seems like this line might be less successful than they'd hoped and may not last for too much longer. It would be a shame if the Raimi Symbiote suit was exclusive to an 18+ bust though. I also sort of resent the fact that they put a worse version of Iron Spider in the regular Endgame set just to make the bust seem like better value. It's possible that Ant-Man might get a similar treatment, since they skipped out on giving him leg printing in his first proper minifig appearance since 2018. Riri fits this reasonably well, she has an inherent compassion and vulnerability in her that exists right alongside her more unethical tendencies and personality flaws. She's one of the few characters that I would consider to be far more compelling in the MCU than her comic counterpart. This is probably the main issue with the way the newer heroes have been introduced, characters like Ant-Man and Doctor Strange wouldn't be nearly as popular without their team-up appearances with the pre-existing Avengers characters immediately after their introductions. Even if their solo movies didn't make a massive impact on the audience, their interactions with the larger universe helped build their goodwill immensely, it definitely seems like a huge mistake to have not had any large scale team-up movies throughout phases 4/5.
  15. These are going to look so much worse in value next to the similarly-priced vehicle sets from Marvel which pretty consistently get 3 minifigs each, even if they are re-uses most of the time. How am I supposed to eat this Batman & Robin Batmobile without my Robin? Between the '66, Kilmer, and now Clooney Batmobiles all excluding him, it makes me think someone at Lego has a genuine vendetta against Dick Grayson. The new cowl mold does suit Batfleck's armoured version more than any of the other live-action batsuits, but it would be a little strange to have him driving the Batmobile in a massive armoured suit. At least it isn't his horrific design from the start of The Flash.
