Hi everyone, I hope I’ve found the right section for this short post. Back in March, I unfortunately tore my Achilles tendon, and for the past month and a half I've been doing a lot of exercises as part of my recovery. One of the exercises to help regain joint mobility required a small cart or sliding platform (my therapist suggested using an old skateboard). Here’s my solution: Now that the exercise that required it has been removed from my physical therapy routine (after 50 days and around 270 reps per day), I can say I'm both satisfied and a bit surprised at how well it did the job. Of course, I wouldn’t recommend using anything but the old-style wheels with metal axles, but overall I think it was a fun and creative solution to a temporary problem. All the best, everyone!

Love those still-on-frame-wands as main gate!

Trying to merge the Balrog from #10367 with Surtur from #76289
Grin replied to Grin's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thanks hikouki I agree, that would be great. I already tried to overlap 2 "Balrog/Nazgul" cloths (as printed on paper) on a single wing, but wasn't able to make it work. I'll try again when I’ll be able to get my hands on those two sets :-) -

... and after hours of rendering, a better view -
Hi everyone! I love it when a LEGO set inspires me to build something... and the Balrog from the recent Book Nook definitely did. Unfortunately, Stud.io still doesn't have part 6488129 in its library — the one used for Surtur in set #76289 — which I’ve represented here in Dark Red. For proportions and details, I based my design on the Citadel miniature, which I’ve already posted a photo of here. As you can see, the pieces from the two sets aren’t enough to complete this rework. To finish the wings, I’ll have to make the fabric parts myself. Although they’re adapted from Cinderhowl’s wings in set #21348, I’ve changed both their size and the number of attachment points to better match the stylization used by WETA & P. Jackson. Here the first render of my rework: Even though, for now, all my budget is going toward the missing parts for the Dragon Hall expansion of set #21348, I couldn’t resist playing around a bit with virtual bricks. Still, I’m confident I’ll eventually be able to get my hands on these two sets and bring this project to life as well. Cheers!

... if only they had based the color scheme of the balrog on something like Surtur from set 76289...

Hi guys, these days I've got a bit of time to spend on the bricks, so here's a new update: I've been testing the prototype of the pedestal (details to be refined) that will control the movement of the secret door will be under the exclusive control of Cinderhowl (at least when it's not busy wreaking havoc in the castle upstairs ) News ASAP!- 42 replies

I totally agree with Agent Kallus: the color choice is an interesting choice, but the Balrog seems way off: (for reference a Citadel Minifigure I painted several years ago). but... Something is telling me that 10367 may be my next "Try to enhance and complete" starter set

#21348 Dungeons & Dragons - [WIP] Trying to enhance and complete
Grin replied to Grin's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Hi Guys! A little update for today: the opening system is tested and debugged. I choose the old flex system 'cause it was sneaky to hide everything in the tight fit of a 2 bricks and 2 plates tall usable space. Going back to details and to Stud.io... news ASAP Cheers- 42 replies

Thanks Geobrick: I love the sky at night, but this time I only demonstrated my poor english (gonna correct it...) well... this is my first thread on a forum and never displayed anything in a event... but this should be an interesting suggestion I'm not fast and can't always dedicate to building the time I would like to... but I'm perseverant ;-)- 42 replies
