  1. Is it just me or does the pauldron on Sauron bother anyone else a lot? Ever since we saw pics of the Sauron fig, there was something about it that just didn't feel quite right. The helmet/shoulder armor piece doesn't integrate well with the rest of the body. I think, for me, it's how overly detailed the pauldron mold is. I don't think the excess ridges complement the look of minifigures. The dimensions figure also has detailed armor pieces but they blended in well with the rest of the figure. It could just be the color mismatch on the new Sauron fig between the molded piece and the body.
  2. The head on view of sauron with the long legs looks decent. But as soon as you bend the legs and articulate them, or you look at them from different angles, you can see just how disproportionate and weird those long legs are to the rest of the body. I am firmly in the camp that normal legs are superior
  3. Strongly disagree. Minas Tirith and anything related to the battle of pelennor fields were among the most requested, if not no1 requested set that we missed. It's iconic, and I'm sure it will draw in many casual adults who aren't into LEGO. It is the one set in LOTR that would justify such a high price point. Just look at the excitement when LOTR was first announced to be returning. Everyone was clamoring for Minas Tirith.
  4. Completely disagree. I hope LEGO continues to roll out big sets for LOTR every year. We are going to have two absolutely amazing sets by the end of this year, and I believe LEGO can go 3 for 3 next year with a Minas Tirith. That is not to say I don't want smaller sets, but given the option between the two, I would rather get big, detailed sets packed with figs.
  5. MoS is the lieutenant of Barad dur so it makes sense to include the second in command of the tower in the set. I do wish we got a new character though, like a nazgul in its hobbit armor.
