  1. Thanks for your help!
  2. That is awesome, exactly the technique I was looking for, thank you! What pieces comprise the ornate post?
  3. Sorry, my sign is printed on 4 bricks - (four) 1 x 4 bricks - below is the simplest way I can think of to display the sign outside of my modular business - like the pub above I would love to hang it from a pole or display it in a more realistic 'ornate' fashion, instead of just sticking bricks underneath it. Hope that makes it more clear! Thanks, j233
  4. Hello, I am looking for ideas/inspiration on how to mount or hang a sign in front of my modular business. The characters were too many to incorporate into a SNOT design with the structure, so I have it written over FOUR 1 x 4 bricks, stacked one on top of another. Any thoughts or ideas beyond sticking 1 x 2 bricks underneath would be appreciated! Thanks, j233
  5. I put a call out last month for some help building a funeral hearse - thanks to all for your input! I settled on a design that I did mostly from scratch but with a rear end influenced by a hearse LXF I found on LDD - a very ornate Cadillac, and an awesome front end influenced heavily by HIGHWAY PATROL, who generously shared with me with his knowledge. What I ended up with appears most like an early 90's Lincoln Funeral Coach with a Caddy front end :) @ six wide. Thanks again, gotta get back to work on the family funeral home!
  6. Complete with Bricklink links, thank you!
  7. Can anyone please recommend an appropriate tire size for a 6 wide city vehicle? The photographs on Bricklink are very misleading! Thank you!
  8. American funeral homes prefer Cadillacs and a few old Lincolns here and there... some cities recognize purple flashing lights as a caution for the procession, but they still have to obey the traffic laws and are often cut off and treated poorly by other motorists... unless it is your mother or child in the hearse, screw off you are slowing me down and disrupting my day. I agree, they are a bit plain. Also, everyone goes with black bricks, while in many US cities with large black-american populations, the hearse's are preferred in white. The best example of a nice ornate Cadillac hearse I have found instructions for is just too big for my project (it is 8 wide and longer than the front of my funeral home) so I am going to try one myself. I like the size of Highway's plus the front end.
  9. Great work. I found your other hearses on the LDD website, but love the front grill of this one. I'm scratching my head trying to figure out how you got the modified plates (grills) on the angles that you did? The amber lights must be a European thing?
  10. After searching through the catalog on Bricklink I am stumped - can anyone help me by identifying these 2 pieces (see attached photos) The first is described as: STICK 6M W/FLANGE The second one is described as a T-bar? Thank you!
  11. Amazing work!
  12. Yes Bernd, this was not a very Christian post, and nothing like this exists in the world today. Men don't pay for sex and women don't profit from men's stupidity, desperation, and hormones. Never have, never will. Ignore the issues, and don't discuss them, let alone with Lego as a media. Like the World Trade Center attacks, never happened. Shame on you. wah wah wah Nice job, I like it. Doesn't compare to the BJ homosexual bust post, but pretty good!
  13. Thanks for your input Captain. Any info on obtaining custom stickers for a sign? I'd incorporate the FH name with bricks but funeral homes don't do that!
  14. Thats what I figured, thanks for confirming! One more to go! hmmmm...
  15. DrNightmare: For some reason I get an error message when I try to access member's profiles so I can't private message! Thanks Highway Patrol, they are pretty good looking, but might be too small for my display. I'll check them out though!
  16. The funeral home is a modular old house built on a 32x32 base, so probably 8 wide?
  17. Hello, I am seeking one of the brilliant members of the board to create a 1980's style Cadillac Funeral Coach (hearse). I am willing to pay a honorarium for your time and effort + LDD plans so that I can ultimately build it myself. I am a AFOL returning to the 'hobby' after a 25+ year absence and lack the ability to pull this off on my own! Details: Late 1970's, 1980's black Cadillac Funeral Hearse. No casket required, nor does one necessarily need to fit into the coach - I just want the hearse to park and display out front of the funeral home that I am building. Honest, interested folks, please drop me a line at: pclewis23@gmail.com
  18. Wish I'd done my Dan Aubin mod (Norfolk Southern) before this one... his are so much more realistic than Lego's own. Anyway, wanted an Ontario Northland for my display, so I did this modification of the BNSF release. 'Prototype': Oversized image removed by TheBrickster My ONR:
  19. Awesome work! They are going to be needed today after the coppers go in and bust some heads clearing out the 'occupy' site!
  20. Konajra, with ultimate respect I ask, would you ever consider sharing instructions of this build, not so much for an exact replication, but for inspiration and fundamental know-how of this masterpiece?
  21. After a 20+ year absence from Lego I discovered Dan Aubin's genius designs online and gave one a try. Keeping it simple for my first project I followed 99% of his GE C30 design but changed it to an all black Norfolk Southern. I hope he shares more of his brilliant work with us, especially influenced by North American diesels! Cheers!
  22. just working on a bridge on which to display my diesel locomotives - other than track and perhaps guard rails, do you guys have any suggestions for other features/decor to put trackside on the platform?
