I think it’s a good idea for a run of sets. I don’t think it will quite scratch the classic pirates itch for me, however these sets are likely to be colorful and creative. Depending on how they turn out I might be interested. When I first heard of the DnD castle set I was uninterested but the final design and then the CMF series made that turn out very cool as a more fantasy castle spinoff thing. This could be similar where they won’t necessarily go with traditional pirate sets but could be a neat accompaniment. As others have said maybe the parts that come from these sets could be quite useful in MOCs
