  1. Might be the only way to get characters outside the same ones we’ve gotten 20x over by now. I’d more than welcome it. Niche options include Wonder Man, Black Knight, Beast, and Hercules (without even moving past the 1960s). Hell, maybe we’d even get the Kang or Baron Zemo we keep getting cheated out of.
  2. As LEGO seems to be targeting a younger and younger audience, it’s crazy to me that two of the GotG sets don’t have an antagonist. High Evolutionary really should have been in the Rocket set and maybe one of the Sovereign in the Benatar set, given its inflated price point and reused figure torsos/legs. Even feels weird for the $10 set, regardless of the low price point. I’m seeing an alarming trend in reduced number of minifigures in a lot of these sets. In regard to the Morbius set, when is it not standard to get 3 figures in a $20 set, especially with a $5 price increase?! This quality drop is getting nuts.
  3. Even that might be too optimistic at this rate. Maybe a $40 buildable Carnage figure, an $80 buildable Mjolnir (re-released), and a $200 buildable Cap’s Shield with Venom goo on it. One set with Captain America and an Outrider. He still doesn’t have leg-printing.
  4. Thank you! Longtime lurker with a prior account I lost the password to. I agree on Electro - it’s been a decade since we got the Ultimate universe version so a mainline figure isn’t a bad addition. Hopefully we’ll get a mask mold if they want to do the classic comic version, like you said. Still waiting for a *proper* Shocker minifigure too. Although accurate to the movie, “guy in leather jacket and jeans” just doesn’t do the original character justice.
  5. This 100%. High Evolutionary was (publicly) announced at the 2022 SDCC and Kang the year before. NWH hit theaters 18 months before set release and all of its characters have been used in marketing for the last year. This can’t be an issue of concept art or spoilers.
  6. High Evolutionary is still the biggest sin, IMO because (i) we’ve had two MODOKs in the past and (ii) he’s unlikely to appear in any other sets, unlike Kang. I’ll concede that he’s a pretty obscure character but this was probably the one shot collectors had of him getting a minifigure. That really bums me out.
  7. See, that would actually make a great set - a brand new character and a build that makes sense/works with other themes - so there’s no way it gets made. :(
  8. As a longtime Marvel comic reader and collector of the LEGO Superheroes subtheme since launch, all I want/need is new characters. Is that really too much to ask? The Star Wars subtheme can get the members of the Cantina Band but we can’t even get the main villains of the film!
  9. Oh, I’m not saying don’t include him. But how can they exclude the ONLY unmade character (and a main villain of the film) in favor of ANOTHER Doctor Strange, Ned, and MJ.
  10. Why do you give endless praise to mediocre designs and decreasing quality from designers?! Is LEGO paying you to defend everything they do with cult-like zeal?! I’ve purchased nearly every Marvel set since LEGO acquired the license in 2012 so don’t come at me with that “new account” nonsense. I have as much a right to be angry as you do to lose your mind over receiving a subpar product. Don’t @ me. Edit: And I’ve been lurking here for almost a decade. I just don’t feel the need to login and post my excitement for a 15th Hulkbuster or defend a lack of leg printing on the same figures we get every. single. year.
  11. Honestly, this is the worst it’s ever been. - The Lizard being the ONLY main character excluded from the NWH set (and the only character without a prior minifigure ). - The High Evolutionary being the main villains of his film (and a niche character from the comics we’re likely to never get in a future set). Ditto with Cosmo. - Kang being the main villain of his film (and reportedly all of Phase V). Hell, even Cassie Lang is a new character and not the same 10-15 repeats we get year after year. But hey, let’s give the “kids” a 500th Doc Ock!
  12. We can get a “baby Rocket” mold but no Cosmo. It’s like the designers go out of their way to make these sets as bad as possible. Remember the days when almost every set had a new character?!
  13. Them and the host of others we’ve never gotten in favor of the same 10-15 characters released year after year.
  14. Because LEGO doesn’t deserve endless praise for phoning it in on what should be amongst their most celebrated themes. The endless repeats in sets and figures reeks of low effort and the increased prices (with decreasing quality)* reeks of greed. Buster is entitled to his opinion and the LEGO group deserves some heavy criticism. *$160 for an 1100 piece set with five minifigures, of which only ONE is a new character and the other four share the SAME TORSO AND LEGS (which, of course, have no printing). No High Evolutionary, the main villain of the film. No Kang, the main villain of numerous films. No Lizard, the ONLY main character omitted from the NWH set. It’s honestly offensive.
  15. No High Evolutionary, Kang, or the Lizard in these sets is absolutely infuriating. Each year feels like hitting a new bottom in terms of creativity and quality but 2023 feels like a giant middle finger from the LEGO Group. Been collecting since 2012 but I’m done if we’re not getting new characters. The main villains from two movies in a row excluded but hey, at least we get variants of the same 10-15 characters (without leg printing) every year! And straight remakes of prior releases! I sincerely hope these designers step on a thousand LEGO barefoot.
