  1. I hope the Ghost Rider is Johnny's blue leathers, I'm a little tired of the black leather jacket looks The rest sound truly awful haha
  2. That's fair, but there could be a difference in logic between a fun little detail element and like, THE main character of each? But yeah, who knows
  3. Total speculation on my part, but maybe if the mold was redesigned / resurrected specifically for One Piece, they wouldn't want that to be 'cheapened' by it appearing in a set for a different theme before the reveal?
  4. It was probably actually a top-down decision from Marvel/Sony, Cyborg Spider-Woman was in a frankly insane amount of merchandising around the time of the film's launch - presumably she at one time had a MUCH bigger role than the background appearance she had in the final film. I'd speculate that this CMF was planned for quite a long time before finally being released this year, and they just didn't bother to remove her.
  5. Is the font consistent across both movies? They could've just dropped the subtitle from the logo and it'd work fine, I think
  6. CMF looks great, but not really a fan of the movies so there's nothing for me in it. Oh well, glad other people are excited! I want the cat
  7. I think this wave is a HUGE step forward compared to recent previous waves, but it still just feels like a step to me I've been thinking for ages that there should be more playsets, and more comic based playsets - in my experience as a previous child and seeing what my young siblings and their friends play with, locations are almost always preferred for play with superhero characters, and to me it seems that kids don't really have an attachment to the MCU unless their older family are already invested. More bright, fun versions of these characters, without ties to some movie they haven't watched, is great. More locations for superheroes and villains to fight in is great. The figures and the prices are just insane, though. It's not enough to have lackluster selections, we apparently have to remove elements of figures that were previously better? (Peter and Julia both lost their dual molding, despite those pieces being on-shelves and in production RIGHT NOW) Hobgoblin is great. Wish he had dual molded boots too, but it's whatever. He has really fantastic recolours and the printing on him is exceptionally well designed. Kraven looks good. Ultimate Goblin looks great too! That's kinda it. If we're gonna be paying, what, 130 bucks for the Oscorp set, they REALLY gotta do better on the minfigures. Not to mention that the high prices are just an obvious barrier to kids, who are seemingly the absolute primary target for these small buildings. Dumb move. I do think this micro marvel modular street concept is great though, I hope it's expanded on and keeps improving.
  8. Really surprised that Reed doesn't have the stretchy arms, actually - the One Piece sets are incoming, and we've seen that those sets feature that piece! Just use it!
  9. Genuinely amazed at how good Galactus looks, with how the constraction figures have been up until now I was sure he'd be terrible. Not using that weird faceplate piece really helps! I'm really happy that he passes for a really decent comic Galactus. Figures are horrible, but I'll just get comic based customs anyway.
  10. Honestly, at this rate, a cool Galactus minifigure piloting a mech would be more fun than one of those abysmal constraction figures
  11. I'm genuinely amazed that we didn't get a Sentinel set this summer, it feels like such an obvious slam dunk. If my memory isn't totally deceiving me, in one of the X-Mansion designer interviews, they said that they know that people will want multiple, and basically just implied that we should buy multiples of the actual mansion 😭 wild It's not that they wouldn't sell well, so I'm not sure why the aversion. Even a set filled with an almost identical Sentinel and a couple of X-Mansion reuse figs would probably do fantastically. Making any of those exclusives more accessible seems to me like a selling point in and of itself
  12. I know this isn't super relevant, but I recently got that 4+ Hulk and Iron Man set because it was like £7 in an order of things I needed anyway It's REALLY cool, and as silly as it feels to say about something like it (that's so small and for four year olds) I think represents some design philosophy that the rest of the theme could think about adopting The Iron Man stuff is whatever, it's a pretty standard 4+ large pieces bike, but it does the job in so few parts and I think there's some value in that The Hulk part of the set is just great, though - it's so simple, but the 'smash' feature is so satisfying and well-executed that I think honestly anyone would have a lot of fun with it - but this is what I've been saying for so long! Sets should showcase their characters' powers! A Hulk set where Hulk smashes a building and it crumbles into a bunch of pieces is so obvious to me, but it's really great to actually see take shape I think if we got more basic concepts like this (a way for Spidey to actually swing, a way for flying characters to actually fly, that sorta thing) instead of static representations of those powers, these sets would instantly be more fun, which is better for everyone, I think Also, the Hulk figure is top-tier, I love him
  13. Flash in the cancelled set for his movie just used the MCU Cap cowl with printed wings, so I think maybe they'll just keep with that piece
  14. I actually do remember a designer addressing the BP bust They were being asked about the possibility of further NWH sets past the initial wave (long time ago haha) and they said that the BP bust was a set going back to Black Panther because, at the time, it was the highest grossing solo movie in the MCU. Since NWH was closing in on that title, it made sense (he said it was a 'maybe' but obviously at this point they were planning the Liberty battle and Sandman sets) I feel like 'a random superhero' doesn't quite capture the significance BP had
  15. The same dude is responsible for great hits like the ugly D2C Hulkbuster, Captain America's flamethrowing motorcycle, the Endgame Hulk helicopter, the flat head Hulkbuster, the first Marvel advent calendar, the weird Shang-Chi dragon... he has a FEW solid sets like Molten Man, but if you throw enough stuff at the wall, right 😂
