Really cool! I love the use of the minifig hand as the control device. I know it's not a new concept, but you used it beautifully here.

Very nice, I love the ball design for the main section, but it seems like the wings(?) may be a little far out. I'm not using any reference (cuz I'm too tired to look it up right now) but maybe reduce the length of the beams a tad.

This is a really neat idea, and very well realized. The only thing I would change is either make the scenery section larger or take a closer picture. Since you're going for a perspective-based creation I feel like the whole frame should be filled with your creation. So maybe close the gap between the edge of the MOC and the backdrop of where you're taking the picture, if that makes sense. But it's a great creation nonetheless, keep it up :)

Well, I'm not saying totally brick built, maybe just a windscreen piece where the windscreen actually is on the ship and a few other large custom pieces for the rest of the main body or something. It just kills me that one piece makes the entire main section, ya know what I mean?

Hopefully it will change a LOT. It's a shame the entire cockpit/windscreen is still that horrendously ugly grey thing.

Haha of course Also, in regards to the "astromech droid shouldn't fit in that ship" matter.... I wonder if, being the complex mechanical entities that they are, the droids' main 'body' section can compress, or telescope in a way so they fit more compact into ships..... O.o hahaha

Yeah, I see where you're coming from. For the record; In my honest, personal, unrelated-to-target-audience opinion, I dislike 6212 (as well as the new one). I think its accuracy and functionality are sub-par, and colors/shapes are way off. But the masses seem to quite enjoy the design, so a redesign is not warranted. (sadly.) And I realize that. So I wasn't EXPECTING a totally new x-wing, just crossing my fingers. AAAAND that's my stance on the matter.

I'm not saying it wasn't popular, and I already said I'm complaining selfishly (read: I wanted a redesign for ME, not for the kids and AFOLs who "love it".) I know it kind of makes sense that they wouldn't redesign it, I was just saying I wish they had. How does that not make sense? EDIT: also, before anybody freaks out about it, no I DON'T expect lego to design a set for me personally, obviously. It was just a phrase

Yeah, you're right, as far as target audience goes, it's a great set. It's obviously an x-wing and it has good minifigs. I complain selfishly, I'll admit but I, like a lot of others on this board, was hoping for a redesign corresponding with that of the tie fighter, not just a few more pieces thrown on and shifted around.

Why is it that Lego is absolutely incapable of making a decent x-wing? I had high hopes for a design overhaul but I'm tragically underwhelmed. It just.... isn't good. None of the sets look very good actually, save for the escape pod.
