    I'm fairly sure that these shouldn't fit together without the bogey plate being stressed. I even tested it with real bricks - the bottom part pops out much easier than with 1 plate with technic hole.

    You know, I observed you have 9v motors, so perhaps you could connect the lights to the 9v motors instead of the battery box?
