Being Chinese, I watch a whole heap of Asian movies. I recently watched Red Cliff and Bodyguards and Assassins. Great films both based on real events in China. Also watched 14 Blades, Ip Man 1&2, Return of the Fist, the Lost Bladesmen and the Butterfly Lovers. If you can understand Chinese, watch them, if you can't, watch them with subtitles because seriously, they're that good.
